Ann and Leon walked out of the loud, crowded cafeteria, making their way to the office of the captain of Ann's dorm.

That's when the General spotted them.

"Ann, I've been meaning to see you," the General said. "Come inside my office. Leon, you can wait outside."

Without replying, Ann followed the General into his office, while Leon remained outside.

The office was dimly lit and meticulously organized. A dark wood-stained desk, covered in neatly arranged papers, sat in front of her.

"Please, sit," the General said, motioning toward a sleek black chair across from him.

Ann hesitated for a moment before taking a seat, carefully watching the captain as he settled into his plush black office chair. The chair complemented the bold silver nameplate resting on his desk.

"Well, I'm sure you're aware that your last mission was a success..." the General began, flipping open a file.

For a moment, he read through its contents in silence.

"You have another mission with Leon. You've worked well with him," he finally stated, looking up at Ann.

"Now, the agency understands the injury you sustained during your last mission. However, we've agreed that you're the best agent for this case. I do apologize for not providing you with enough information last time, but we believed it was best to extract those people as quickly as possible," he explained.

He placed another file on the desk.

"The agency has been monitoring this company for a while now. They haven't caused any major issues—until recently."

The General opened a drawer, pulled out another file, and handed it to Ann.

"The company is called _____," he continued. "Their headquarters is in Pennsylvania, where most of their operations take place. Have you heard of them? They're known for distributing various medications and chemicals."

Ann opened the file and scanned a page filled with information, along with a photo of a large, modern white building—their headquarters. She had never seen or heard of this company before, though she didn't explore much in town.

"Recently, our agents have discovered suspicious activity. People have been disappearing in areas where this company does business. Their trucks and shipping routes are concerning. They seem to operate in alleyways, behind buildings, and mostly at night.

"We suspect they're responsible for these disappearances—possibly for human experimentation. We're still investigating the full extent of their involvement."

Ann sat there, stunned by the General's words.

"Your job, Ann, is to rescue these missing people and uncover what this company is doing," the General continued. "The CEO is hosting a party for marketing and negotiations. You'll need an invitation to get in, but as long as you present yourself as high-class and wealthy, you shouldn't have any issues gaining access.

"Once inside, find the CEO, earn his trust, and gather as much intel as possible about the company and its headquarters. Our agents haven't been able to acquire enough information for a successful infiltration yet. Once you've gathered intelligence, you and Leon will determine the best approach for breaking in.

"I don't think you need further instructions—you'll figure it out, Ann," he finished with a nod.

Ann returned the nod.

"I'm sure you and Leon will make an excellent team," the General added, offering a slight approving smile.

Another mission with Leon...

Ann gave the General one last nod before standing up. As she left the office, she remembered the situation with Ayla and decided to report it.

She headed down the hall toward the captain's office, but before she could reach it, Leon stopped her.

"Ann, wait. Where are you going?"

"I need to report Ayla. Also, we got a mission," she said, holding up the file.

"We can talk about it later," Leon replied, walking beside her.

They arrived at the captain's door, and Ann knocked lightly.

The door opened, and the captain greeted her.

"Hello, Ann. Something you need?"

"Yes, I'd like to report something. I believe my roommate, Ayla, has been going through my belongings—as well as my other roommates' things."

The captain thought for a moment before responding.

"Alright, Ann. I'll look into it."

Ann nodded as the captain shut the door.

"I'll meet you after you finish training," Leon told her.

"Alright."

Just then, a crowd of people rounded the corner—lunch must have ended.

"See you later, Leon," Ann said softly before walking down the hall.

Leon watched as she walked away, her hair flowing behind her, before heading off in the opposite direction.
