Incompetent^^ {Leon Kennedy x Reader}

Chapter 5

 Leon and Jessica walked through the rest of the downstairs.

Jessica stumbled along, beat up, tired, and starved. She shivered in the chilly air.

Leon looked back at her cautiously.

"Cold?" Want my Jacket?" He asked her.

"Oh no, please, keep it" she said, her voice Jessica shaking.

Leon took his jacket and placed it around her gently.

Jessica smiled at him softly.

"Thank you young man." She quivered.

There was a Silence for a while as they walked through the hallway.

They were walking through the bottom floor suites. Leon flashed his flashlight at the rooms. The zombies seemed to be mostly outside and on the other side of the hotel.

The hall was almost pitch black.

Jessica tried not to stumble as she walked through the dark.

They came across a dead end. To the right was a short smaller hallway, and a sight to the side saying "employees only"

Leon walked into the hall.

"Think one of your kids will be here?" He asked

"I hope so." Jessica responded, quietly.

There were stairs going down at the end of the hallway.

Leon went downstairs.

*Ann pov*

Ann continued to search carefully, checking each room and shining her light into them, making sure not to miss anything.

These Poor kids, they must be so scared.

Ann made sure to listen out for any zombies, preparing herself for any unexpected attacks.

As Ann walked past more rooms, she heard shuffling coming from one of the rooms to her right.

She quickly turned at the noise, getting out her gun.

The door creaked open slowly, letting herself in the dark room. She shined her light through the room.

It was an office. The desks were shifted and out of place, the computers fell over and cracked.

Ann had her flashlight shining at a desk when she noticed something move behind her.

She slowly walked closer.

She heard sniffling and sobbing. Ann's face got softer as she heard them. She peered behind the desk.

A young girl with dirty blonde hair and brown eyes sat there, arms wrapped around her knees, tears streaming down her face. She quickly lifted her arms to cover her face. Arms trembling.

It was Lilly.

"Please dont hurt me!" She cried out, voice shaking. Ann quickly puts her gun in her holster. She bent down In front of Lilly.

She reminded Ann so much of Tarah.

"My name is Ann. I'm an agent with the U.S Government." Ann says calmly "I'm here to rescue you and get you out of this place." Ann said softly.

Like girl slowly put her hands down

"I'm not gonna hurt you." Ann reassured Lilly.

"My partner and I already found your mom, we just need to look for your two brothers now."

Lilly wiped her eyes, Ann helped her up.

"Is it Lilly? Right?" Ann asked her, giving her a kind smile

The girl sniffled. "Yeah" she muttered.

"Do you know where your brothers could have gone? Your mother told us that your brother went upstairs." Ann asked her.

"No.." she said quietly. "I went with my older brother Theo up the stairs. I didn't know where else to go... I looked back for my brother, Eric, and I didn't see him.

"So where is Theo now?"

"We split up, I heard the zombies downstairs, and I just ran." Lilly said tearing up. "I shouldn't have done that"

"Don't worry, we'll find both of them." Ann said.

Leon pov

Leon and Jessica seemed to be in the laundry room. Piles of towels and rags surrounded the area. The room seemed to be completely untouched. No one was probably down here during the raid of zombies.

In the corner of the room the two boys sat down, huddled. Theo and Eric.

They were clearly startled at the appearance of Leon. His muscular body and overall structure with his holster of threatening weapons, especially his gun, has scared the boys.

The boys were about to lift their hands up, when they noticed their mother beside Leon.

"M-Mom!" Theo shouted in excitement,

tears in his eyes. He and Eric ran up to Jessica, squeezing her tightly.

"My sweet boys!" She said hugging them back in relief.

"Mom look!" Eric said smiling.

In his hand were three plain granola bars.

"I found these over there, in that basket. We'll be able to eat breakfast." Jessica gave him another hug

"Thank you Eric" she said softly, taking the granola bars from him.

"Hey, not to ruin the party or something but we gotta go." Leon said, looking at Jessica and the boys hug each other.

"Oh. Right." Jessica said quietly.

"Who are you?" Theo said suspiciously.

"I'm an agent from the U.S government. Me and my partner came to rescue you. She went off to look for you guys too. She probably found your sister.."

The four headed out the room, Leon looked for any zombies.

Ann pov

Ann and Lilly walked down the dark hallway.

"We should be heading back down stairs, you really went far kid."

Lilly didn't respond. She had been quiet the whole walk. Ann looked at her with concern. It was obvious why of course.

"So Lilly, are you hungry? I know you probably haven't eaten in days" She said, holding up her flashlight. Lilly didn't say anything for a few seconds.

"Yeah." she said quietly.

Ann gave her a smile. She then reached in her pocket and pulled out some chips.

"Here. I took these from the boat" Ann said, handing them to Lilly.

Lilly took the chip from her and immediately opened them. She picked one up and crunched on it.

A smile went on Lilly's face.

She gobbled down the chips.

Ann remembered taking care of Tarah back at the orphanage.

Dinner was limited. What they got was all they had to eat. Until breakfast, which was the same.

Food portions were small, and meals were often improperly cooked.

She understood what it was like to feel relieved, eating something good after so long.

They continued to walk down the hallway.
