chapter 6

Leon , Jessica, Theo, and Eric entered the lobby.

Ann and Lily walked down the stairs

Lilly spotted her mom and her brothers instantly.

"Mom! Theo! Eric!" She screamed, running towards them and squeezing them all in a giant hug.

Ann walked up to Leon.

"Where'd you find them?" Ann asked

"Some laundry room, where'd you find that girl?" He asked back.

"Lilly? An office."

Ann and Leon look at the family hugging. She smiles at the heartfelt moment. She looks back at Leon. His eyes are so comforting but piercing at the same time.. Ann stares at him for a while until she blinks rapidly to get out the thought. Leon was a pain in the ass, she should never like him. Besides, she barely knew this guy. He was just her partner.

"Hey Leon? Where's your jacket?" Ann says, eyeing his arms.

"Oh, Jessica was cold so I gave it to her." Leon said nonchalantly.

"Aw, that's sweet of you" Ann smiles as she looks away from Leon to look back at the family.

Ann can feel Leon's gaze on her.

Theo and Eric spotted Ann.

"Are you the other agent?" Theo asked softly.

"Yes. I'm Ann. You must be Theo right?" She replied smiling. "Oh! Lilly, this is Leon." Ann introduced. Lilly gave Leon a shy wave.

"We better head out" Leon said, looking out the window to the dark sky.

Ann nodded at him, and motioned to the nearest exit.

"Getting past those zombies is gonna be an issue now" Ann said as she walked to the door.

"I'll fight them off, you bring the family to a safe spot. Wait there for me." Leon instructed.

"Alright" Ann replied

The agents and the family headed out the building. Leon shot at any zombies that spotted them.

The family covered their ears, and ran with Ann to the other side of the hotel. Leon continued to shoot the zombies.

She led them behind a wall. The area was clear of zombies. Ann and the family sat down against the wall. Out of breath.

"You guys okay?" Ann yelled over the gunshots. Lilly nodded as she gripped Eric, who was covering his ears.

Ann looked over at Leon at the other side of the hotel. The zombies were overwhelming him, swarming him. Leon continued to shoot, and fight off any zombies who got close to him. He clearly needed help. Ann got up and took out her gun. 

"I'll be right back!" She shouted.

"Wait, where are you going?" Jessica yelled frantically, leaning on Theo.

"Leon needs help, I'll be back, don't worry! Stay here, don't go anywhere!" Ann ordered.

"W-what if those*[things* gets us?" Jessica blurted as Ann started to head off. Ann threw a dagger from hip holster. Jessica caught it shaking.

"Fight them off. Try to stay together. You'll be fine." Ann shouted through the gunshots.

She ran off to help Leon.

She shot a zombie that was about to swing at Leon.

Leon looked back in shock.

"Ann, what are you doing? Stay with them!" Leon shouted as he shot a zombie in front of him. Ann shot a zombie. Then faced Leon as she reloaded.
