Epilogue
“I love you.”
The words had been swirling around his head for days. And, no matter how many things he had blown up, it was never enough. He couldn’t forget her.
He hated her.
Or, that’s what he had thought, at first. But, really, he hated her for leaving him.
He would never get to see her bubbly smile, again. He’d never get to hear the laugh she sometimes procured for no reason. Deidara would never get to see the distant look in her eyes that she always got when she was thinking of something, or how red her cheeks would get when she was mad.
He hated himself for leaving her.
Because, in her final moments, he wasn’t there for her when she needed him. Like so many times before.
“I love you.” She had told him.
He never got the chance to tell her the same back.
Bitterly, he remembered the way she looked when she had told him. She had been crying.
I love you, too, idiot.
