The scent of butter and sugar filled the air as Yujin carefully rolled cookie dough into neat little balls, placing them onto the tray.
Beside her was Jaemin, being, well... not as careful.
"Jaemin," she warned, an amused smile pulling at her lips as she watched the boy dump an absurd amount of chocolate chips into the bowl. "That's way too much."
"There's no such thing as too much chocolate," he giggled to himself as he began to mix the chips into the batter, a cheeky grin plastered on his face.
Yujin shook her head bemused as she looked at the dough. "The dough is barely holding together."
She liked her cooking class, it was easy- no intense formulas or equations. Just cooking and baking.
Her and Jaemin had been partners a few times, she always enjoyed his company while cooking. He was known for adding in extra ingredients, claiming it made everything taste better.
But their conversations never went past small talk.
"That just means they'll be extra good," he gave her a large smile before tossing a few chocolate chips into his mouth.
Yujin rolled her eyes playfully, chuckling at the boys antics. "You're impossible."
Jaemin shrugged, allowing a comfortable silence to wash over the two as they continued to form dough balls. "How's the animal shelter going?" She asked, remembering he mentioned something about it last week.
"It's going good!" His face lit up. "All the animals are so cute."
"Any favourites yet?"
He hummed in thought before answering. "There's these three super adorable kittens that are white and grey. Theyre so cute."
"Reckon you'd be allowed to adopt them?" Yujin asked as she placed the last dough ball onto the tray and placing it into the oven.
"Not sure. Even if I was, doubt my mum would let me," he shrugged, the two sitting down at the seats in the middle of the room as they waited.
Yujin thought back to the weekend, to when she went to Renjuns and she glanced over to Jaemin who was writing something down in his book.
"Can I... ask something?"
Jaemin looked up from his book, curious. "Sure."
"What were you doing at Renjuns?"
"Oh, we were just hanging out."
Yujin gave a silent oh before furrowing her eyebrows and tilting her head slightly. "But you were carrying medical books. I didn't know you wanted to be a doctor."
"Actually, I am thinking about it. I think helping people would be pretty amazing," he said, his smile genuine as he talked about his hopes for the future. "Renjuns been helping me."
