Chapter 19: The Helicarrier

Start from the beginning

Steve: word is, you with Dr Pym can find the Cube.

Bruce: is that the only word on me?

Steve: only word I care about.

Bruce: it must be strange for you, all of this.

Steve; well, this is actually kind of familiar.

Nat; Lady and Gentlemen, you might want to step inside in a minute. It's going to get a little hard to breathe.

They heard machinery moving as the flight crew was told to secure the deck.

Steve: is this a submarine?

Bruce: really? They want me in a submerged, pressurized, metal container?

Janet, Hank, Steve, and Bruce walked to the edge to see a giant rotor starting to spin. Three others were also spinning as they immediately knew what was going to happen as the ship started to fly off the water.

Bruce: no, no, this is much worse.

The Helicarrier was now in the air as anyone who was outside used a breathing mask. Nat and Bobbi escorted them to the bridge as they looked around the place as all routines were getting checked as Janet couldn't believe all she was seeing as Hank was impressed by the engineering done.

Hill: all engines operating. SHIELD Emergency Protocol 193.6 in effect. We are at level, sir.

Fury: good. Let's vanish.

Hill: engage retro-reflection panels.

The Helicarrier hod from sight using cloaking technology as Fury got away from where he stood to meet his guests.

Fury: gentlemen. Lady.

Steve: <takes out $10 and gives them to Fury>

Fury; <takes them> Doctor, thank you for coming.

Bruce: thanks for asking nicely. So, how long am I staying?

Fury; once we get our hands on the Tesseract, you're in the wind.

Hank wanted to retort to that notion but he didn't say anything at the moment.

Bruce: where are you with that?

Fury: <points at Coulson>

Phil: we're sweeping every wirelessly accessible camera on the planet. Cell phones, laptops... if it's connected to a satellite, it's eyes and ears for us.

Nat: that's still not gonna find them in time.

Bruce: you have to narrow your field. How many spectrometers do you have access to?

Fury: how many are there?

Bruce: call every lab you know. Tell them to put the spectrometers on the roof and calibrate them for gamma rays. I'll rough out a tracking algorithm, basic cluster recognition. At least we could rule out a few places.

Hank; I can help to speed up the process.

Bruce: it will be appreciated. Do you have somewhere for us to work?

Fury: Agent Romanoff, could you show Dr Banner and Dr Pym to their laboratory, please?

Nat: you two are gonna love it. We got all the toys. <leads them away>

Janet: so anything fun to do around here?

Bobbi; follow me. <leaves>

Elsewhere

Selvig: <directing some scientists> put it over there. <looks at Barton> where did you find all these people?

Barton; SHIELD has no shortage of enemies, Doctor. <shows some pictures on a tablet> is this the stuff you need?

Selvig; yeah, iridium. Its fount in meteorites. It forms anti-protons. It's very hard to get hold of.

Barton: especially if SHIELD knows you need it.

Selvig: well, I don't know. <sees Loki and Amora walking over> hey! The Tesseract has shown me so much. It's more than knowledge. It's truth.

Loki; I know. What did it show you, Agent Barton?

Barton: my next target.

Loki; tell us what you need.

Barton: <opens a case> I need a distraction. <takes out his bow> and an eyeball.

Helicarrier

It was already night time as the search for the Tesseract, Loki, Amora, Selvig, Barton, etc all continues.

Coulson: I mean, if it's not too much trouble.

Steve; no, no. It's fine.

Coulson; it's a vintage set. It took me a couple of years to collect them all. Near mint. Slight foxing around the edges.

Steve: Agent Morse said Wade Stark has one. I've seen the files on Wade Stark... he's too young to be in this line of work, Agent Morse as well.

Coulson: we know. That's why we gave Agent Morse the role of being Wade Stark's bodyguard, she needs to have a friend and who better to understand her than a genius kid that grew up too fast. We try to keep her off the field as much as possible, but like I said, she grew up too fast.

Steve: so Wade Stark is a doctor now.

Coulson; yes. Super genius, just like his father. His IQ is amazing.

Sitwell: we got a hit. A 67 percent match. Wait. Cross match, 79 percent.

Coulson; location?

Sitwell: Stuttgart, Germany. 28 Konigstrasse. They're not exactly hiding.

Fury: Captain, you're up.
