Take me back to the middle of nowhere. Back to the place only you and I share. Remember all the memories. The fireflies and make believe. Kickin back at the old school yard. Singing songs on our guitars. This is our reality. Crazy stupid you and me. We know this is the way it's supposed to be. So we're taking the long way home. 'Cause I don't wanna be wasting my time alone. I wanna get lost and drive forever with you. Talking 'bout nothing yeah, whatever babe. So we're taking the long way home. Tonight.

I sing along to my music as Jeffrey does my hair and makeup. I thought it was time to spice it up a bit.

SIKE. Jeffrey loves me and he wanted to try his new products out on me. He's a beauty artist.

My hair has been lightened to a honey-ish color. My seventeen years of caramel colored hair is gone.

Jeffrey is currently curling my hair which he says looks fantastic.

Cam is here too. He's running around doing crap somewhere like a six year old.

I see him come through the door by looking in the mirror.

"Woooooooooooooaaaaaahhhhhhhh," he says. "My bestie is a looker."

"You're not too bad yourself, Dallas." I wink and laugh.

"Avalon, stop squirming around or I'm going to burn you with this wand!" Jeffrey scolds.

"Sorry, sorry." I chuckle.

Cam walks up next to my chair and examines my hair. "Did you dye it?" He asks Jeffrey.

"Yes," he replies. "I did a good job, don't you think?"

Cam stares at me in the mirror. "Definitely."

I smile back at him.

I'm glad we started over again. More than friends, like we were before we started dating, but not in a relationship.

Uma Thurman starts playing and Cam starts dancing around like an idiot.

"Avalon!" Jeffrey scolds again. "You're only going to have half your gorgeous hair curled if you keep moving!"

"It's Cam!" I whine. "He keeps making me laugh."

"It's not my fault I'm hilarious!" Cam complains.

Jeffrey rolls his eyes. "Ugh, teenagers. How old are you two anyway?"

"Seventeen," Cam and I say in unison.

I turned 17 last month.

"Shouldn't you guys be in school?" Jeffrey asks.

"School is canceled for a while because there's been a rat infestation."

"Ew. Gross I hate rats. Nasty," Jeffrey fake gags and sticks his tongue out.

I laugh.
