Shirou Alter POV
I reappeared outside the doorstep where I knew Sakura was hiding out at I knocked on it gently and the door opened "Senpai..." Sakura uttered drinking in my altered appearance "I am back...Sakura," I said causing her to barrel me into a tight hug.
"I-I thought you...were gone that you left me," she cried as I gently caressed her head "I wouldn't ever leave you behind Sakura you mean too much to me," I replied in a softer tone.
"It's just that Saber and Rin-senpai told me you were gone and I-I only assumed the w-worst," Sakura murmured "they lied to you in order to keep you away from me Sakura," I explained causing her to let out a slight gasp and her eyes to gain a red tint in them for a moment.
It wasn't enough to bring her true self out that's hiding beneath "those two can't be trusted to protect you anymore Sakura it's best you stay here where you'll be safe," I said entering the apartment with her following behind.
"Ah I see you've already gotten started on dinner why don't you rest a bit on the couch I'll finish up the rest for you," I suggested heading into the kitchen.
"I can at least still help out," Sakura insisted though as I stared at for a moment until I relented "very well but if you feel tired I would suggest resting for a bit," knowing how mentally tired she must be because of how much energy was used to alter me and fuel my projections.
I needed to bring the real her from the shell she was hiding herself in...not that the current Sakura is bad it's just not truly her.
Taking the prepared meat that Sakura had ready I dipped it into the egg batter before placing it into a pile of flour and into the fryer.
I then turned my attention to the veggies "could you pass me the knife Sakura," I said my voice even but edged with a darker timbre than before. She handed it over without hesitation her hands brushing mine for a moment. I caught her glancing at me, but her gaze darted away when I looked back.
I turned my focus to slicing vegetables the motion was mechanical almost too fast and in my lapse of attention the blade nicked my finger. Blood welled up instantly dark and vivid against my pale skin.
"Tch," I muttered pulling my hand back I reached for a nearby towel but Sakura's hand caught mine before I could wipe it clean.
"Senpai..." Her voice was soft but carried an intensity that made me pause. She guided my hand toward her and before I could react her lips brushed against the wound. Her tongue darted out warm and soft as it swept over the cut drinking in the blood with deliberate care.
The sight should have shocked me or at left me embarrassed that is if I were the old Shirou I would have flushed to the roots of my hair and stumbled over my words. The current me felt no such things though if anything I kind of felt...her actions to be turning me on.
I could feel her trembling slightly as though this was some instinct she didn't fully understand herself. Her purple eyes shadowed by something darker met mine briefly before she pulled back, a faint flush on her cheeks.
"You're... always so reckless," she murmured avoiding my gaze now her voice trembling slightly.
I smirked faintly, the old warmth I might have used replaced with something cooler, sharper. "And you're always so quick to take care of me Sakura why I don't know what I would do without you," I replied my voice lower than usual carrying a faint edge of amusement.
She fidgeted her hands curling into the fabric of her skirt "in all seriousness though you shouldn't do something like that again that's how diseases like aids occur," I continued after a pause causing her blush to deepen and turn away "right," she quietly murmured heh cute I thought.
