Robyn's P.O.V.
Slowly, I walked up to the receptionist at the main desk. Putting down my bags, I straightened my blazer and cleared my throat.

"Hi, how may I help you?" She asked, smiling at me. "Are you here for your dorm keys?"

"Hi, yes please that would be great!" I smiled, "My name is Robyn Wood."

"Ah, yes here you are. Okay then, your room number is 306, second floor and here are your keys, ID card and a map of the grounds. Is there anything else I can do for you?" She said, handing me my things.

"No that's great thank you!" I thanked, taking my keys, card and map from her. Picking up my bags, I headed for the lift.... Now, you know they say first impressions are the most important? Well this was not the first impression I was hoping for: the bloody lift was out of order, and the other lift seemed to be ignoring my frustrated button-pressing, so I resorted to taking the stairs. I know the receptionist said my room was only on the second floor, but my God, you have no idea how many stairs there were to climb. By the time I got up to the second floor, I'd only dropped my bag ummm, I'll say about 10 times, and my suitcase had decided to flip over so many times that I'd given up wheeling it up the stairs and instead carried it. My blazer was hanging down near my elbows and my hair, which was once in a high, messy yet 'prettily messy' bun, was now sagging slightly down the back of my head. 'Wow Robyn. Just wow.' I thought bitterly as I set my case down and made my way down the corridor.

Bloody hell there are a lot of rooms here. 274, 276, 278, I counted miserably as I continued to walk down the corridor. It felt like ages before I finally found my room 306, and by the time I had, I was already in a pretty bad mood. However, as I stood at the door, ready to encounter whoever my new roommate was - whom I hoped was friendly and I would get along with - I quickly tidied myself up a bit to gain a tiny ounce of self-decency, and knocked loudly on the door. I could hear quite footsteps on the other side, before the door swung open, revealing a boy the same age as me, with dirty blonde hair, brown eyes and the largest grin I've seen in my life.

"Hey, you must be Robyn right?" He asked, placing his hand out for me to shake. "I'm Thomas." And what did I do? I stood there like a lemon, blankly staring at him for what felt like a year. I recognised this boy and I could not fathom from where I'd seen him before. After a few seconds had passed, I instantly snapped out of my daze, cleared my throat and shook his hand.

"Hey, yeah my name's Robyn," I said blushing, immediately trying to hide the embarrassment I felt inside but failing.

"Nice to meet you!" Letting go of his hand, I bent down to pick up my duffle bag and suitcase when he held up a hand.

"No no no, I'll get those," he said, "You go on inside."

"You sure? Those bags are quite heavy! Let me take my case at least?" I asked.

"No it's all good," he laughed, hauling my duffle bag onto his shoulder and taking my suitcase in his hand, "Bloody hell, what the hell do you have in here? Elephants?!"

I laughed loudly. "No not elephants, just a baby rhino, a few dozen bricks and a dead body!" I called over my shoulder as I entered the dorm room. I could hear him chuckle quietly over my shoulder, and I grinned to myself. Okay, so maybe my time at university will be much more fun than I expected.
