Since their school days, Y/N has harbored feelings for Scoups, the popular yet cold and distant boy. Despite every heartfelt confession, Scoups repeatedly rejects her-sometimes harshly. But no matter how cold his words are, Y/N remains blinded by he...
"You never used to act like this" Scoups continued, his frustration mounting. "I was the one who made you laugh, made you smile and now? Now you’re just…" He ran a hand through his hair, as if searching for the words. "You’re so damn happy without me and it drives me crazy."
Y/N took a slow breath, her gaze hardening. "You made your choice, Scoups" she said, voice barely above a whisper. "And now, you have to live with it."
The words hit him harder than he expected.
He wasn’t ready for that.
Frustration, Regret and the Breaking Point
Scoups was standing in the middle of the gym, his heart racing as Y/N turned to walk away.
His gaze flicked over to Dino, who was watching from the side, his expression unreadable.
"Stop" Scoups snapped, his voice rising. "Don’t you care about me anymore?"
Y/N stopped in her tracks, but she didn’t look back.
"Of course I do" she said, her voice tight with emotion. "But I can’t keep chasing someone who doesn’t even want me."
The finality of her words cut through him like a knife.
His chest tightened. The weight of his own mistakes crashed over him in waves, each one more suffocating than the last.
"You’re making a mistake" Scoups whispered, his voice breaking.
Y/N turned just enough to glance over her shoulder. "I’ve made my choice" she said, her voice strong, resolute.
And then, before he could say anything else, she walked out.
The gym was eerily quiet and Scoups stood there, utterly alone.
Late Night Reflection
That night, Scoups sat alone in his room, the silence overwhelming him. His phone sat untouched on his desk, the screen dark and still. He hadn’t reached out to her—he hadn’t known how to.
He replayed everything in his mind.
Her laugh with Dino. Her angry words. Her detachment.
And for the first time in his life, Scoups felt lost.
He wasn’t used to being the one who needed to chase after someone. He wasn’t used to feeling like he was on the verge of losing someone he cared about.
But this time… it was different.
He’d pushed her away too many times. Taken her for granted. And now…
Now, it was too late.
The next morning, Scoups walked into the cafeteria, expecting the usual chaos of his friends laughing and chatting. But it was different today.
Y/N was sitting with Dino, her back turned to him.
And it felt like a slap in the face.
He couldn’t tear his eyes away from her. She looked so at ease with him. So happy.
"Hey, man" Mingyu said, nudging Scoups. "If you’re just gonna stare, you might as well go talk to her."
Scoups grip on his tray tightened. He couldn’t.
He wouldn’t.
"You really wanna go through this?" Mingyu pressed. "You’ve got two choices—fight for her or let her go. But standing there doing nothing will only make it worse."
Scoups heart pounded in his chest.
The words echoed in his head.
Let her go?
It felt like a death sentence.
Later that day, Scoups found himself standing outside the library, watching as Y/N and Dino exited. They were talking quietly, walking side by side, the distance between them shrinking with each step.
He couldn’t stand it.
He walked toward them, his feet heavy, his mind spinning.
"Dino" Scoups called, his voice tight.
Dino turned, giving him a confused look. "What’s up?"
"I need to talk to Y/N" Scoups said, his eyes not leaving Y/N’s face.
Dino hesitated, then nodded. "Alright, I’ll catch you later."
As Dino walked off, Scoups stepped forward. "Y/N…"
She turned, her face a mask of indifference. "What is it now, Scoups?"
He swallowed hard, stepping closer. "I just… I need to explain."
Y/N crossed her arms. "Explain what? That you’re still being a jerk? Because you’ve had weeks to do that and haven’t bothered."
Scoups flinched, but he couldn’t stop now. "I screwed up, okay? I pushed you away. I was scared and I didn’t know how to fix it. But I don’t want to lose you."
Y/N looked at him, her eyes softening for just a second. "I don’t want to be the one you chase after, Scoups. I want to be someone you value before you lose me."
Scoups stared at her, the weight of her words sinking in. "I do value you, Y/N. I just… I don’t know how to fix this."
She shook her head, stepping back. "You start by not making the same mistakes again. But that’s something you’ll have to figure out on your own."
And with that, she turned and walked away, leaving him standing there once more.
