Incompetent^^ {Leon Kennedy x Reader}

chapter 6

"You needed help, and I can't just let you die, you know." Ann said as she shot a zombie behind him.

"I don't need help." Leon yells back to her.

"Okay mister nonchalant guy, just shut the hell up and let me help you." Ann rolls her eyes at him.

The two agents continued to fire bullets. Ann casually glanced at the family once in a while to see how they were doing. The family were huddled up together. Leon smirks at Ann as she shoots the zombies crowding him.

A zombie came behind Ann and sliced her thigh. Ann quickly kicked the zombie with her other leg and shot it. Ann placed a hand on her bloody thigh.

"Ahh!" she exclaimed quietly to herself.

She lifted her hand from her leg to find it covered in blood. She gripped it tighter. Leon shot the last zombie. The cut wasn't too deep but it hurt badly. Pain filled Ann's thigh.

 Ann knew she had to just deal with it, since she had no resources to really help her. Ann hoped the bleeding would stop soon. She swore under her breath. Leon put his gun back in his holster. "Let's go!" Leon called out. Ann stood up straight, taking a grain off her leg. She slowly walked towards the family. Slightly limping.

Leon hadn't seemed to notice her injury. 

The family was fine.

Ann was glad Jessica didn't need to use the dagger. "Let's head out!" Ann yelled out. Sweat caked Leon and Ann's forehead.

It was still dark outside. The moonlight provided just enough light. They walked into the woods ahead of them.

The woods at night were freezing. The fog covered their few trees ahead of them.

Their feet sloshed in the mud, covering their shoes in muck. The group shivered as they walked through the woods. Ann breathed through the stinging of her leg. Her plan was to make it to the boat, and get medical care there. Leon walked, ready to pull his gun out when needed, as well as following the map.

Jessica walked with Eric, clutching the jacket Leon gave her.

Her teeth chattered. Lily and Theo walked at their own pace.

They all had been walking for about an hour non stop. They had been quiet the whole time.

Ann's adrenaline calmed. Making the pain in her leg more intense.

"Hey Leon? Don't you think we should take a break? Sit down for a bit?" Ann asked, trying to hide the discomfort in her voice.

Her leg was still bleeding, she had been holding her thigh the entire time. Leon continued to walk without answering her.

"At least for a moment so we can catch our breath?" Ann blurted again. Stopping in her tracks.

Leon turned around.

"No time for breaks Ann." He said sternly.

"We need to get out of here."

"A break would be appreciated," Jessica said, out of breath.

Ann gave Leon a look. Leon sighed.

"Fine. For a little bit" he gave in.

Ann smiled and sat down on the muddy ground against a tree, hidden from the rest of the group. She looked at her leg. The scrape went from one side to the other. She breathed in from the pain.

Jessica and Eric sat down on a damp rotting log. Lilly sat next to Theo.

Leon stayed standing, watching the woods.

Ann looked back at Leon, before shuffling in her holster for something to wrap her leg.

Leon overheard the faint noises.

"You should take a seat" Ann says, calming down.

"No, I'm good." Leon mumbled as he looked at Ann. His eyes roomed her body. He notices a bleeding line on her thigh and a slight rip in her black shorts.

"Is that blood?" He questions her.

"Uhm, yeah..don't worry though I'm fine.." she mumbles quietly.

Leon got up the damp moss covered log and went closer to her to examine the wound.

"Please Leon. I'm fine" Ann said, trying to push him off. Leon's usual hard face had turned into a concerned look. He eyed the scrape on Ann's thigh. 

"Let me see it," he demanded, keeping his voice low. The family watched in concern.

He looked at Ann's leg. unwrapping it. The gauze was flooded with blood. The wound isn't very deep, but was still pretty big nonetheless.

Ann quivered in pain.

"How long ago did you get this?" Leon asked, looking up at her, his face softer.

"Back at the hotel, a zombie attacked me while I was forced to save you. Please, it's not that serious. I'll get treatment at the boat." Ann insisted, covering her thigh.

"Ann, stop. We need to get you some proper bandages, or antibiotics." Leon said.

Ann wrapped her leg back up, pushing away Leon's hands.

"Plan on sleeping here for the night?" Ann asked Leon, trying to change the subject

"No way. Gotta keep an eye out for any threats and get you something for that leg." Leon said, looking at her.

"That wound could get infected, we're in an unknown foreign place. This forest could be filled with any diseases. Unknown or known.

Ann pulled herself up more on the stump. Grazing her leg against it and causing her to breath in pain.

"You alright?" Jessica asked, voice trembling. Eric and Theo stayed silent, Lilly was drifting off.

"Yeah I'm fine" she brushed off. Trying to calm her face, or give attention to leg.

"Don't worry Jessica. Me and Leon will keep an eye out while you and your kids sleep, okay?" She said, giving her a smile.

Jessica gave an unsure nod, returning the smile.

Eric rested his head on Jessica's lap. Theo and Lilly leaned against each other.

Leon and Ann sat in silence for a bit.

Leon opened his mouth.

"Now looking around... I don't know if we're going the right way..."

"I'm sure we'll find the dock. You got a compass?" Ann asked as she stretched.

"No." Leon said straightly

Ann sighed at his response. 

"That's gonna be an issue, isn't it?" She said back.

"Great, we gotta get you some medical help, bring this family back to the boat, if we can," Leon said, stressed, rubbing his forehead.

"Leon just sit next to me. I'm tired, you're tired, and I think we should rest" Ann says in a tired tone. Slightly slouching.

Leon hesitates but walks over to her and sits next to her. Sharing the large stumped

"Here's the plan. We rest, for maybe at least thirty minutes. Then we get up and get going. We head straight to the boat." Ann told Leon sleepily.

"Can you wait that long for treatment?" Leon asked concerned

"Yes Leon." Ann said, exhausted.

He turns to her and mumbles a "fine".

Ann starts drifting to sleep, her head falls on Leon's shoulder. Leon ignores Ann's action, and stays up keeping a watch.

Minutes later, he falls asleep, leaning against Ann.
