Since their school days, Y/N has harbored feelings for Scoups, the popular yet cold and distant boy. Despite every heartfelt confession, Scoups repeatedly rejects her-sometimes harshly. But no matter how cold his words are, Y/N remains blinded by he...
"Y/N!" Scoups snapped, spinning around to face her. His voice cut through the silence like a sharp knife.
Y/N froze, her smile faltering slightly.
"Do you ever stop talking? Do you not realize how annoying you are sometimes? Every single step we've taken, you've been running your mouth non stop about nothing."
Y/N lips parted slightly, but no words came out.
Scoups ran a hand through his hair in frustration. "You think this is some kind of lighthearted adventure? It's not a game, Y/N! You're slowing me down and honestly... you're just a burden right now."
The words hung heavy in the air.
Y/N blinked, her smile completely gone now. Her voice was soft when she finally spoke.
"I... I was just trying to make it less awkward. I thought... maybe if I kept talking, you wouldn't hate being paired with me so much."
Scoups turned away, exhaling sharply. "Forget it. Let's just focus on finding the checkpoint."
But when he glanced back, Y/N was no longer following him.
"Y/N?" Scoups called out, his voice softer this time.
No answer.
He turned back around, looking down the winding trail. Y/N was gone.
🎀 Y/N POV 🎀
Y/N walked aimlessly through the dense trees, clutching the map tightly in her trembling hands. Her chest felt heavy and her vision blurred slightly from the tears she was holding back.
"You're just a burden right now."
His words echoed in her mind over and over again.
She tried to focus on the map, but the lines and markers seemed to blur together.
"Come on, Y/N... you can do this" she whispered to herself.
A twig snapped somewhere nearby and she flinched. The forest felt colder now, the silence deafening.
But she pushed forward, determined to at least reach somewhere safe.
The Finish Line
Yeri, Woozi and Dino had already arrived at the final checkpoint, marked by a large red flag fluttering in the breeze.
Yeri scanned the approaching path anxiously. "Where's Y/N?"
Scoups arrived shortly after, looking disheveled and frustrated.
Yeri stormed up to him. "Where is she, Scoups? You were with her!"
Scoups looked away, guilt flashing in his eyes. "We... we got separated."
Woozi frowned. "How could you lose her? The paths aren't even that complicated."
Yeri voice trembled with anger. "What did you say to her, Seungcheol? Y/N wouldn't just wander off for no reason!"
Scoups didn't reply, his fists clenched tightly at his sides.
"Enough" Woozi said firmly. "We need to go back and find her before it gets dark."
The group grabbed their flashlights and started retracing their steps.
Scoups lingered for a moment, staring back at the darkening forest path.
"You're just a burden right now."
His own words haunted him, and for the first time, his chest felt tight with regret.
Y/N was now sitting on a mossy rock, her knees pulled to her chest as the sky turned a dusky purple. The faint hum of insects filled the air around her.
She wiped at her cheeks hastily, sniffling as she stared at the crumpled map in her hands.
"Maybe... maybe I really do talk too much" she whispered to herself.
A rustling sound nearby made her jump to her feet.
"Hello? Is someone there?"
But there was no response, only the sound of leaves shifting in the breeze.
Taking a deep breath, Y/N clutched the map tightly and stood up. "You can't just sit here, Y/N. Keep moving. You'll find your way out."
But her steps were slower now, her usual energy and enthusiasm replaced with quiet determination and fear.
Scoups led the group, his flashlight beam cutting through the darkness. Yeri followed closely behind, her expression tight with worry.
"Y/N!" Woozi called out. "Can you hear us?"
Dino cupped his hands around his mouth. "Y/N! We're here!"
But the forest remained silent.
Scoups pace quickened as panic started clawing at him. His voice broke slightly as he shouted into the trees.
"Y/N!"
No answer.
The group paused briefly, their flashlights flickering across the dark path.
Yeri spoke softly. "Please... let her be okay."
Scoups clenched his jaw, his voice barely above a whisper.
"She will be. I'll make sure of it."
The group pressed on, their shadows stretching long across the forest floor as the night swallowed the light of day.
