Lila's Story

Lila Dixon is Daryl Dixon and Merle Dixon's younger sister. She has the same father as Merle and Daryl, but she had a different mother. Lila never met her mom, but she never really wondered who she was. Daryl and Merle were never here, at home. Well, if a crappy small cabin is what you call home. Daryl didn't really see Lila as a sister, he never thought of her as family, maybe because he didn't want to seem all soft, especially in front of Merle. Merle never really showed his emotions but he did love Lila, she knew that for a fact. And so did he. Lila's father was Will Dixon. He wasn't a great guy. For years Lila would have to do everything he says and he was pretty lazy so she basically had to keep the house held together. There were only three rooms though, the main room, that had Will's chair sort of marking it the living room, and then the kitchen, which had a few cupboards a sink and a microwave. The other two rooms were a bathroom and a closet. The closet was fairly spacey which was a good thing because that's where Lila sleeps. There's just a blanket and a pillow in there. Her father slept in his chair, right after he drinks himself to sleep, every night. Lila didn't go to school, mainly because they couldn't afford it, but also because Will didn't want her showing up covered in bruises, he abused her quite often. He didn't like Lila, not at all. He never wanted another kid, but she was left in his custody. He also didn't like her because she was a girl, he would prefer a son, so he also tried raising her to be more of a guy. To be as tough as a guy. To be more manly. He would teach her a lot of useful things though, he taught her how to fight. Lila was too young at the time, growing up, to understand every time he done something wrong that it was wrong. He would through things at her sometimes when he got frustrated with her, and when she was at a certain age he would pour boiling water over her every day until she didn't feel the pain anymore, he said he was trying to toughen her up. When Lila was seven years old, she ran away, but she didn't have anywhere to run to. They were living in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by a lot of trees. She just ran into the forest hoping to get away. She was out there for 3 days with no food or water until he found her. He had dragged her all the was back to the cabin and gave her a beating she won't ever forget. Lila remembers this one time Merle came by, to visit, and seen Lila covered in bruises and small cuts. Merle was yelling at Will and they were fighting, when the fight became physical and violent Lila ran into the closet where she sleeps and hid until it was over, it was quiet and when she came out Merle had already left, and her father was sitting in his chair drinking. That was a scary day for Lila but it was also the same day she found out how much Merle actually loved her and cared for her. She wasn't ever so sure if Daryl loved her. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. When Lila was eight, she found a box filled with papers in it when she was rummaging around while her dad was gone. She read through the papers, she learned how to read when Daryl and Merle would have taught her. Lila found out who her mother was. It turns out her mom was a woman called Rachel Grey, she was a prostitute who got pregnant with Lila but got arrested so after nine months Lila was born and custody fell into Wills responsibility. Merle named Lila, and Will let him because he didn't care. Lila is nine years old now and there was s virus spreading around, turning people into these monsters. It all happened so fast she didn't understand what was going on. It was all over in less than three weeks. Emergency broadcast was shut off. They didn't know what to do or where to go. Will tried blocking the door from the monsters. Lila seen how they would tear into people, eating them, killing them. She knew they were dangerous and this was serious. They never really had food, Lila was used to being hungry, but her dad knew he had to lout, and find some food to take. He went out one day and was gone for hours. Lila was afraid he just left or maybe died and she'd be all alone. But he did return, with no food, and with blood all over himself. Will had been bitten. He knew he would turn, he heard it all on the news from before. Lila was scared, she wasn't sure if she would be able to make it on her own. And she didn't want to loose her father, even if he treated her horribly he was still her farther and she still loved him. He told her that he was going to have to die and there was nothing they could do. Lila felt like crying but Will told her not to cry, he said never cry, he thought it was only something a girl would do and he still wanted her to act like a boy, like a son. He showed her on a map everything for food and were to get it. He explained how she could get it and how to stay safe. He showed her how to kill one of those monsters and he gave Lila a gun. He showed her how to use it. He told her that he will shoot himself in the head, and that she was going to take the gun off of him after, he said it was the only way, so he wouldn't come back and kill me. He said to her to go hide in the closet whilst it happened so she didn't have to watch. Lila said goodbye to her dad, for the last time. As soon as she got in the closet she started to cry, tears pouring down her face but trying to not make a sound. A few moments later hears the gunshot. He done it. He killed himself. Lila knew she was supposed to come out but she was frozen. She was crying. Lila cried all night, it wasn't until the sun came up until Lila opened the door. She walked towards the chair, there was blood everywhere. This traumatised her. She grabbed the gun and knew she had to hold back her feelings and not cry. She was trying to do that. She focused on the fact that she has to leave and get some food. She was starving. Lila was about to leave out the door but noticed all the monsters. The gunshot must of drawn them to the cabin. There were to many. She couldn't go out there, she was trapped. Lila was trapped in there hungry, thirsty, stuck with her father's dead body, rotting in the chair for twelve days. She was just wasting away herself, she just, wasn't brave enough to go out there. She didn't know what to do. It was about the middle of the day when she hears a lot of commotion coming from outside. A few seconds later the door opened, someone prided themselves in. Lila was sitting against the wall, there gun in her hand, not pointing it at the door though, looking very dirty, tired and weak, when Morgan came in. He seen her sitting on the floor and looked at Will in the chair dead. He could clearly see the bite mark on him so he figured out what happened on his own. He felt bad, and wanted to help the little girl, Lila, not knowing who she was. Duane was outside but Lila couldn't see him, she could only see Morgan. "Hey, are you alright?" Morgan asked. Lila looked up, quite scared but very traumatised. "..I don't know" Lila replied, her voice very dry and shaky because she hasn't drinking any water in days.
