"I- I, that-" I was cut off by this warm feeling deep inside my stomach, a feeling I thought I would never feel again. Demi's lips were perfectly pressed against mine moving in perfect sync. It was slow and passionate almost like she didn't want it to end.
Pulling back I noticed her eyes still closed with her bottom lip between her teeth. They still closed as I moved some hair that had fallen to her face back. Cupping her cheek in my palm her eyes opened, I've never seen her eyes this way. Her eyes were a soft brown, glossy and so innocent. She gave me a warm smile before placing her hand on the back of my neck playing with my hair.
"Your so perfect" she whispered. I could feel her slowly moving in but the door cracked open making Demi jump off my lap.
"Oh there you guys are! Great I found you. Come on we got you a cake Demi. Well a certain someone got you a cake" Hanna winked towards me, Demi's smile was amazing she turn to me and jumped in my lap. I yelled out in pain but smiled.
"YOU DIDNT HAVE TOO!" Demi yelled making Hanna and I laugh.
"But I did oldie. It's your special day and nothing is special without cake" Demi turned to Hanna, Hanna smiled before walking out and closing the door behind herself. Demi wrapped her arms around my neck and smiled. "Happy birthday" I whispered.
"Thank you. For everything. For forgiving me when you shouldn't have" we had a stare down until Hanna came back in.
"Come on Demi they want to sing Happy Birthday to you" I kissed Demi's cheek and stood up causing her to stand up also.
I now stood towards the back of the cafeteria while everyone sang happy birthday to Demi. I watched her smile bigger then before she searched around until she met my eyes. I smiled and moved closer to the little crowd.

They finished bring Demi into a huge hug. Demi's giggles where all I could hear. They made me smile, they made me feel safe. Demi turned to me and grabbed my hand, "bite it bite it" Demi giggled letting go of my hand then turned with a finger pointed to me. "You better not" she mouthed. I held my hands up in defense. That's what she thinks.
Demi moved in to take a bite of her cake when I pushed her whole face into it. Everyone laughed as Demi came up for air. She looked around before standing up and attacking me with cake.
"You bitch! Your ass is mine!" I laughed as I ran away but fail miserably as I trip on someone's shoe. Demi didn't noticed me falling and tripped on top of me. Demi laid on top of me as we both laughed "We always meet like this" she whispered.
"Yeah but it's funny" everyone around us starting throwing cake at us. Man I'll be hearing about it later..

After two hours of cleaning up all the cake off the walls, floors and tables. Demi and I were laying on the couch in our room watching Titanic, I held Demi in my arms while she played with my hand. I couldn't help but think what would life had turned if she would have never cheated. Would we be out? Would we live together? Questions that will never get answered.
"Demi" I let out before my mind could process what was about to come out. Demi raised her head up off my shoulder and turned to me with a smile. "Why? Why did you do it?" She gave me a look as to say "did what" I sighed knowing I shouldn't bring it up but in the back of my mind I had too. "Cheated. Why'd you do it?" Demi's face turned pale like.
"Stephanie I know I fucked up, I'm sorry for it. But please know it never meant anything to me. I always thought of you it hurt me to do it but he was there when you weren't, I just needed you there sometimes..." I get it. I myself needed someone there but that didn't mean it was okay to cheat on her. "Please Steph don't worry about him. What happened between him and I is in the pass and it will stay there because you are the only one for me" with that she kissed my cheek.
"Promise?"
"Promise" she kissed my lips this time letting them sit there a bit longer.
I didn't realize it but I had fallen into deep sleep. It woke me was Hanna's voice saying "it's time for dinner" i slowly woke up and noticed Demi gone.
Hanna smiled but then stopped when i becomes worried. "What's wrong?" She asked walking back in the room.
"Demi. Where's Demi?" Hanna giggled and sat down on the end of the couch.
"She has a visitor Steph, it's okay" visitor? Who could that be? Hanna gave me a warm smile before standing up again. "Come on its your favorite" she didn't have to tell me twice.
"Slow down Steph" Hanna giggled as I playfully ran in front of her.
"Come on!! Hanna! They could run out of pizza!!" Hanna giggled again and stood side to side with me now.
"Who came to see Demi anyway?" I found myself asking while standing in line ready to get my pizza.
"I honestly don't know, it was a man but I've never seen him on her contact list and you know we don't let anyone visit a patient who's not on the contact list only if the patient allows it" I nodded before placing a juicebox on my tray, I thought about who the man could be but nothing came to mind. Maybe it's her uncle or something.
"OH MY FROG!!! Y'all have ranch today!!" Hanna laughed while covering my mouth.
"Shuu Steph you know we have sensitive patients" I nodded then moved to grab all the ranch I could see. "Okay Steph put some back, we have other patients you know" I gave Hanna my puppy face, "fine but don't tell them I let you" I nodded and kissed her cheek.
"Cheese or pepperoni" the lady from the other side of the counter said.
"Pepperoni please!" She smiled then placed two pieces on my plate. "Thanks Beth!"
"No problem sweetie" yup, I was cool with the lunch lady. Jealous much! Haha. But really after being here for a while you become friends with everyone.
"Hanna do you get you can go out and get something for me" Hanna listened intensely "It's for Demi" she smiled nodding this time.
"What would you like" I thought for a moment then smiled.
"I want to give her Ninja Turtle boxers" Hanna laughed out making heads turn our way. I playfully hit her arm and smiled.
"Alright Steph. No problem" I pulled her into a hug and started walking back to my room. I never really liked eating in the cafeteria, my room was more comfortable.
"Hey Steph maybe after your done, you and Demi can show me that song you've been working on"
"Of course Hanna, we wouldn't want anyone else to hear it before you" I passed by the music more and heard soft notes being played.
"Hey Kim!" I yelled causing the other girl to jump.
"Hey Steph" she giggled and went back her music.
"Hanna can you go get it now" Hanna nodded.
"Can you make it to your room okay"
"Please you know me!" I smiled.
"Okay then see you in a bit" I hugged Hanna again then watched her leave. Just as I turned the corner I looked into the visiting room and saw no one. Where Demi? Maybe she's back in our room now.
With that thought I rushed toward our room noticing the door wide open. "Demi I brought you some piz.."
I don't know what to say..
All I knew was every living thing in my body was officially dead. My heart stopped for the moment, I didn't want it to start beating up again.
You know what I heard is true, the first time it destroys you but the second time it kills you...
The same feeling of déjà vu destroying my every hope and dream that could've been but certainly won't ever again...
"Stephanie..." I held up my hand in defense, I couldn't go through this again.
"Save it Demetria" I turned my heels just in time to let a tear slip down my face.
Second chances they don't ever matter...
