The brunette made his way to the cafe him and his friends had agreed to meet up for the last time before they join campus.

The little bell on the door chimed announcing his arrival. His eyes scanned the place, finally landing on a blonde and blue haired boy. A smile decorated his lips when they saw him and waved at him.

"What took you so long?" Kai, the blonde, asked as he eyed Taehyun who just joined their table.

"I just took a walk in the park. Didn't feel like taking a cab." He answered nonchalantly as the other two looked at him as if he was nuts.

"You took a walk and we were here waiting for you for almost a whole hour?" Kai dramatically held his shirt as soobin sipped on his drink while watching the two bicker.

"You should be grateful I gave you two some personal time together else you'd be sucking faces right now." Taehyun spat dryly as he called for the waiter to get his drink. Kai and soobin looked at almost everywhere avoiding eye contact, their cheeks flushed.

The two were not in a relationship but they acted like it and Taehyun was sick and tired of watching the two being all lovey dovey but never confess their feelings to each other.

"By the way, where's Yeonjun? He's never this late." Kai asked as he looked around, looking for the said boy.

"I'm sorry I forgot to tell y'all. He said he won't join us today." Soobin answered, a small frown playing on his face and Kai was quick to notice it but didn't push.

"What did he say he was doing?"

"Nothing. He said he just needed some time alone."

"Yeonjun? Some alone time? That's not the yeonjun I know. Dude must be going through some issues." Taehyun said not believing that the friend who gives a fuck about nothing and no one actually wanted some time alone. What was he thinking about? Life?

The waiter brought his drink and the friend group engaged in conversations about nothing and everything. After two hours they left the cafe, parting ways as everyone went to their place.

Taehyun got home all tired but his thoughts were spiraling everywhere. The scent of freshly baked cookies engulfed him welcoming him home. His mother emerged from the kitchen, a flour-ry apron hugging her body as her hair was tied up in a messy bun. She hugged his son, peppering his face with kisses. This was always the best part of coming home. He was going to miss this once he moves to the university dorms.

"How was your day,son?"

"It was fine. I met with my friends, talked...yeah that's about it." He said receiving a small pinch on his cheek.

"You should have invited your friends. Today I made brownies and a lot of cookies. I'm sure they would have wanted some.''

Taehyun placed his finger on his chin, pretending to be thinking then his lips tugged upwards before stating...

"I don't think so. I'm fine finishing all of them by myself."

His mother chuckled as she placed her hand on his cheek, the boy leaned in enjoying his mother's warmth. He noticed her eyes glistening with unshed tears.

"I'm going to miss you Tae." The tears rolled on her cheeks making the poor boy feel his heart breaking. He never wanted to see his mom sad especially after his father's death. He wiped her tears before engulfing her in a hug, rubbing circles on her back.

"It's okay mom. I'm going to university and if you want I'll be visiting at least every weekend. How does that sound?"

"It's fine. Just...just don't abandon us when you get there." A few more tears escaped her eyes before she calmed down.

"I won't. I will never. You and Dae are all I have and I won't leave y'all for the world. I promise."

"Yay!! Group hug." Dae, Taehyun's little sister joined in the hug, loving the warmth of both her mom and brother.

"Okay okay, both of you go upstairs and freshen up before dinner." Mrs Kang stated as she pulled away from the hug wiping her tears with a little napkin.

"Oh, what about the cookies? They are calling me." Dae pouted as she pointed at the cookies that were cooling on the counter.

"Young lady, it's either you go freshen up then eat your cookies or forget about them."

"Fine!!' She stomped her way upstairs whining about wanting to eat the cookies while hot.

"She never learns." Taehyun commented as his and his mother's gaze were on Dae

"Yeah. You too...what are you still doing here? Waiting for me to whoop your ass?" She asked while her hand was reaching out for a spatula.

"No. I'm gone." With that the boy left for his room with a smile on his face. He sure is going to miss his family when he goes to campus.

How was that?

I was writing Taehyun's mom moment while listening to highway 1009, I was almost at the verge of crying then the song changed and the emotional tension left in a snap🙄🙄. Stan enhpen...I'm a multistan by the way. No hate on my boys.

Hope you loved this...if not...idk🤷🤷

See ya later.
