Author's POV
The sound of sirens pierced through the night, the red and blue lights flashing faintly in the rain. Yeonjun clung to consciousness, his trembling hands reaching out for the boy beside him. "Please... Beomgyu, hold on," he whispered, tears streaming down his face.
But the pain was too much, and darkness soon consumed him.

When Yeonjun's eyes fluttered open, the blinding white of the hospital room greeted him. His head throbbed, his arms and legs felt like lead, and his body ached all over. Confusion clouded his mind until the horrific memory of the accident came flooding back.
Beomgyu.
His heart raced as he tried to sit up, but a sharp pain in his chest forced him back down. Panic surged through him. "B-Beomgyu!" he cried, his voice hoarse.
A nurse, noticing his distress, rushed to his side. "Calm down, sir," she said gently, her hands resting on his shoulders.
"Where is he?" Yeonjun demanded, tears pooling in his eyes. "Where's Beomgyu? Is he okay?"
The nurse hesitated, her expression softening with sympathy. "He's here," she reassured him, pulling back the curtain to reveal another bed.
Yeonjun's heart sank at the sight before him. Beomgyu lay motionless, his face pale and bruised, with machines beeping steadily beside him. His chest rose and fell faintly, but his vibrant energy was nowhere to be seen.
"H-how is he?" Yeonjun stammered, his voice breaking.
The nurse sighed, hesitating as if trying to find the right words. "He's... stable for now, but he's in a coma."
Yeonjun's world crumbled at that word. "A coma?" he whispered, his voice trembling.
"We're not sure when or if he'll wake up," she admitted softly. "The trauma he endured was severe, and he hasn't shown any signs of consciousness yet."
Yeonjun's breathing hitched, his chest tightening painfully. He tried to move toward Beomgyu but winced as sharp pain shot through his body.
"Ah, don't try to move yet," the nurse said quickly, helping him lean back against the pillows. "You've sustained significant injuries yourself. You'll need a few days to recover before you can be up and moving."
"I don't care about me," Yeonjun snapped, his voice raw. "I just... I need to be with him."
The nurse placed a comforting hand on his arm. "You're already here, and that's what matters. Talk to him. Sometimes, hearing a familiar voice can help."
Yeonjun nodded weakly, his gaze fixed on Beomgyu's fragile form. "Gyu..." he whispered, his voice shaking. "I'm so sorry. I should've been more careful. This is my fault..."
His tears fell freely as he reached out, his fingers barely brushing against Beomgyu's cold hand. "Please, Gyu. Come back to me. I can't do this without you..."
And in the quiet hum of the hospital room, Yeonjun sat there, holding onto hope as tightly as he could.
Days turned into weeks, and Yeonjun stayed by Beomgyu's bedside, refusing to leave. Even as his own injuries healed, he couldn't bring himself to go home. Home didn't feel like home without Beomgyu.
