The bell rang for their first class, but neither Yeonjun nor Beomgyu made any move to head to the classroom. Instead, they stood by their lockers, exchanging mischievous glances, as though they could read each other's thoughts without saying a word.
Yeonjun leaned against his locker, arms crossed, a playful smirk tugging at his lips. "Beomgyu," he said slowly, tilting his head, "how do you feel about skipping class today?"
Beomgyu bit his lip to suppress a laugh, excitement bubbling in his chest. "I thought you'd never ask," he replied, grinning widely.
Before either of them could second-guess it, Yeonjun grabbed Beomgyu's hand, his grip warm and firm, and together, they dashed down the hallway toward the side doors of the school. Every step they took felt exhilarating, their hearts racing with the thrill of sneaking out, like they were pulling off a daring escape.
Once outside, the sun greeted them with its bright, golden rays, and a soft breeze tousled their hair. It was one of those perfect mornings that made everything feel possible. The world seemed wide open, and for a moment, school felt like a distant memory.
Yeonjun glanced over at Beomgyu, who had a spark of excitement in his eyes. "Where to?" Beomgyu asked, looking around, his heart pounding in his chest.
Yeonjun squeezed his hand. "How about the park? We could find somewhere quiet to hang out, maybe do something fun. We have the whole morning to ourselves."
Beomgyu smiled, his heart fluttering at the thought of spending a carefree morning with Yeonjun. "Lead the way," he said, falling into step beside him.
They made their way to a nearby park, the path winding through clusters of trees and patches of green. Eventually, they found a secluded spot near the lake, hidden away from the rest of the world by the shade of towering oaks. The calm water glistened in the sunlight, and the sound of birds chirping overhead added to the peaceful atmosphere.
"See? So much better than being stuck in class," Yeonjun declared, spreading his arms wide as if embracing the freedom of the moment.
Beomgyu laughed and stretched out on the grass, letting out a contented sigh. "I could get used to this," he said, closing his eyes and feeling the warmth of the sun on his skin.
Yeonjun plopped down beside him, nudging him playfully. "You're not regretting our little adventure, are you?"
Beomgyu peeked at him from the corner of his eye and grinned. "Not even a little," he said, shaking his head. "This might be the best decision we've made all week."
They both laughed, and for a while, they simply enjoyed the tranquility of the park. Beomgyu rested his head on Yeonjun's shoulder, the gentle breeze rustling the leaves above them. It felt like they were the only two people in the world.
After a few minutes of comfortable silence, Yeonjun sat up suddenly, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Wanna do something a little crazy?" he asked.
Beomgyu raised an eyebrow. "What did you have in mind?"
Yeonjun pointed toward the lake, where a group of ducks waddled around near the water's edge. "Let's go feed the ducks."
Beomgyu blinked. "With what? We didn't exactly come prepared."
Yeonjun grinned and stood up, brushing the grass off his pants. "That's where the fun comes in. Come on!" He grabbed Beomgyu's hand again, pulling him up.
They dashed toward a small café near the edge of the park. Inside, the smell of fresh coffee and pastries filled the air, but their target wasn't the menu—it was the small basket of bread rolls sitting by the counter. Yeonjun looked around, making sure no one was paying attention, before grabbing two rolls and winking at Beomgyu.
