TW: some violence near the end
_____

Tick...tock...tick....tock.

The rhythmic sound of the clock stretched as the room remained silent. It's been two maybe three minutes since Gabriela woke up. She cracked her eyes slightly to examine the room. She traced any exits, windows even the material in the far corners.

She turned more but couldn't fully turn her head. Where was Gio? Her stomach dropped for a split second. Did they get him? Did he escape? Before anymore worst scenarios could eclipse her brain, a soft cough came from behind her. First a cough then a few gasps behind her. After a bit of spatial gauging, she reached behind her and caught a pair of hands.

"That tickles!" a voice quietly laughed. It was him. She sighed before grabbing the hands, did the rope make it hard to maneuver her hands? Maybe but no pain could be worse than losing Gio.

"You scared me you little shit." she sighed, "What the hell happened back there?"

It was silent before he mumbled back, "I was attacked... They knew we were coming."

'They knew? How could they know.' Her thoughts raced. 'Was it a betrayal from someone in the company, did they mess up somewhere or was this all a plan to get rid of them...' She couldn't trace it but now they had one job. To survive.

Before she could continue, one of the exits opened. Suddenly, all the lights were on. With a clearer view, the room turned out to be not just a room but actually a warehouse. Entered in through the open door, seven persons. The first four didn't seem like much but it was the three after... They were the ones they had to worry about.

"I see you're both awake. Saves us time." one of three said.

He was dressed formally. Crisp suit, slicked back hair, stone cold face, the whole 10 yards. His hair was jet black and his eyes, a nice color of forest green. The one to his left seemed like a more youthful version of him. His hair had a shorter and freer cut, same pair of eyes but instead of a suit he had a doctor's coat. The one to his right had a more rigid look, his hair was more of a dark brown rather than black and he had a matching pair of dark brownish eyes.

"To think that the company sent such high ranking numbers for such a low level request." The one in the suit continued. "Truly interesting."

______

Gabriela's pov.

The pain at my wrists continued to sting but I had no intentions to let go of Gio. Worst case scenario, he had to fight to escape.

As the guy in front continued to talk, I tried to examine more. Why would he come after us? How'd he even know of the request? Was the company compromised... I couldn't think anymore before I saw one of his men walk towards us.

"What... What do you want with us?" I asked hesitantly. Gio grabbed onto me, I couldn't see his face but I knew he was wondering what I was doing, didn't know myself to be honest.

"What do I want?" He answered. A few seconds seemed to pass before he continued.

"To take down your company. It's gotten too big for my liking." His fists clenched as he spoke, a grudge with the company maybe?

"Take down?" I repeated, my gaze slowly matching his. "Yes, and we were hoping you two would help us with that."

The guy to his left butted in. His voice sounded pleasant yet laced with some sort of malicious intentions.

I remained quiet, I mean what are we supposed to do? We've been compromised and even worse, we failed. We have no where to go back to.

_______

3rd person pov.

The room remained silent, the sound of the clock ticking echoed throughout the room. The one dressed in the suit snapped his fingers, motioning his men to walk over to the two.

Before they could react, THUD! One of their fists collided with Gabriela's cheek. Her head snapped to the other side as she coughed up blood. She gritted her teeth through the stinging pain.

They watched as she gritted. Neither moved so he nodded for them to continue. Another blow was thrown but this time to Giovanni. Another man drove his fists into Giovanni's stomach. He doubled over, gasping for air, grabbing tighter to Gabriela's hands.

"Is that enough convincing for you two to talk?" The gentleman at the left asked. The two gave silence as their response while they slowly recovered from the blows.

The one in the middle scoffed before waving his hand. Suddenly it was a barrage of punches thrown at both of them. It went on for what seemed like hours, maybe three or four before they stopped. Blood everywhere, the two heavily bruised but they remained quiet. Not a cry nor shriek.

He finally gave the others to pull down their masks, the two had no strength to resist. What was unexpected was the shock on their faces. All three of them faltered for what seemed like minutes. The one to left
staggered back, mouth opening and closing. “G-Gabriela... Gio...Giovanni...?"

How did he know those names...
