AN: This chapter was originally going to include their scene, but due to a family emergency I don't know how active I'll be in the next few days and wanted to at least get this next chapter out while I was stuck in the car for six hours. I'll try to update when I can, but I may be unable to for at least a few days. If you don't see anything from me for a little while, don't worry too much. I will be back when I can!
The hospital was bustling around Meredith as she stood at the nurse's station making notes in her patients chart, she was subtly stretching her arms and wringing out her wrists to soothe the slight soreness from being tied up the night before. It had now been three weeks since she started seeing Addison as her submissive and the redhead had begun to ramp things up a notch, adding more rules to Meredith's plate. The blonde had done a lot of research on BDSM to better understand this new world she had found herself caught up in, and with that came a newfound respect for Addison. Through her research she found that typically if it was a sex only arrangement the dominant party kept their rules to just when they had scenes, but the redhead had started making rules that applied even when she and Meredith weren't together. The biggest one being that the blonde had to eat better and limit the amount of energy drinks she consumed.
Despite knowing that Addison cheated on Derek, Meredith never saw her as this cold hearted person, how could she when she found out about the redhead's infidelity while she was defended Meredith from a judgemental patient? Yet, despite never having any negative feelings toward the older woman, it still surprised her how much Addison seemed to care for her. It was the little things that the redhead did that helped Meredith grow to trust her enough to really submit: keeping the hotel room stocked with the blonde's favorite drinks and snacks, having pajamas for her to wear after a scene, taking the time to check in with her and explain things to her, and the way she always held her and reassured her after they were done. Meredith had entered subspace a couple times since they started this, but not once had she experienced subdrop and if her research was any indication, it was because Addison provided such thoughtful aftercare that Meredith came out of her subspace slowly and always feeling cared for, leaving no time for her to feel scared or unsure of herself.
The one thing she couldn't find in explanation for in her research was how even though this arrangement was just sex so the two could both get pleasure, it didn't feel that way to Meredith. It did at first, but three short weeks later it didn't feel just like sex anymore. There was something else there, something so couldn't put a name to. Her indifference towards Derek turned to a bit of jealously every time she saw him and Addison together even though the married couples interactions seemed clinical at most, she was still jealous because while it was her that the redhead spent so much time with, he was the one she was married to. It was confusing and infuriating, but Meredith tried not to think about it too much because if she did, she would have to think about what it meant and that was something she wasn't ready for yet.
"Invasive non-cell. With a history of COPD. That guy's pretty much a goner, huh?" A man Meredith had never seen before broke her out of her thoughts as he glanced over her shoulder at the chart in front of her.
"Sensitivity. I like that in a stranger. Are you new here?" Meredith responded with a slight laugh.
"Visiting. Confounded by all the rain and it's only my first day in town." The man looked Meredith up and down.
"You get used to it." Meredith hummed.
"Makes me wanna stay in bed all day." The man smirked.
"We just met and already you're talking about bed. Not very subtle." Meredith giggled nervously, not noticing Addison coming down the hallway with anger and jealousy written across her face.
