I woke early the next morning as usual and just laid in my hammock. It was a very peaceful and quiet morning as I listened to the grass sway softly in the light morning breeze. I kept my eyes closed and just listened. The small chirping of the birds and the scent of dew-kissed earth filled the air.

I did so for a while until I suddenly heard some footsteps nearby, then some more. When I opened my eyes and turned my head to look, I saw Alby and Thomas walking towards the walls. After watching them walk for a while, I realized that they were heading to the wall of names.

Now I understood what they were doing up this early. Every time after a new Greenie arrives, Ably usually takes them to the wall where all of us, when we first arrive, carve our names. The wall to me is practically a burial for everyone we have lost to the Maze, or sometimes even other things. That's because, every time one of us dies, the others scratch their name off on the wall.

It's kinda creepy and sad but that's how we've been doing it ever since, well, ever since George died.

I kept watching them as I heard Thomas carve his name into the wall. After a while, he finished and they both began walking back to the Homestead.

As I continued watching them, I began to get out of my hammack to start the day when I suddenly felt something touch my shoulder. I spun around with a gasp of surprise to see Minho smiling mischievously.

"Did I scare you a little too hard?" he teased with a playful glint in his eye.

I sighed, "You have got to stop doing that to me, Minho."

He shrugged, "Fine, but that doesn't mean you're completely off the hook." he said, as we both began to walk towards the maze entrance that had coincidentally begun to open right as we arrived. As we stopped in front of the doors, I noticed that Minho already had his bag packed and ready to go for the day. Must have woken around the same time as me, I thought.

Once the doors were fully opened, Minho waved me goodbye. "See you tonight!" I called, as he sprinted off into the Maze. I watched Minho until he turned around a corner and was lost from my sight.

I began walking back to the hammocks and noticed that the rest of the runners were up and finishing packing their bags. The others were either still sleeping or beginning to wake up.

As I walked throughout the Homestead, I spotted Newt was awake and rubbing his tired eyes as he sat on the side of his hammock. I walked over to him, "Morning, Newt." I said softly, weary that others were sleeping around.

Newt stopped rubbing his eyes and looked up at me with a smile, "Good morning," he began, as he stood up. "How'd you sleep?"

I nodded, "Great." I replied, "How about you?"

He grinned, "Great, as always."

I chuckled, then watched as he put on his boots.

Once he finished, he grabbed his bag and threw it over his shoulder, "Today I have to take Tommy around to all of the Keepers."

I nodded, a smile creeping across my face, "His career day, I take it?"

"Yeah," replied Newt, "Alby's having me take him to Zart first, of course."

I chuckled, "A classic Alby move."

"Yup," said Newt, a smile on his face. "But, I mean, I don't have anything against Zart and his... plants, but it's not really my thing."

I grinned, "Well, that's why you're the tour guide and Zart's the teacher for this."

Newt nodded, "Yeah, guess you're right." He said, "Do you think you can come with me?"
