Andaleeb checked herself in the mirror to get assured of her look before her gaze landed on her flat stomach. Her lips spread as she gently cradled her belly with her palm. A life was growing here. She and Masab's child. How much comfort she felt from this information. She wished that the time would get wings and fly so that Masab would come here quickly.
But to her disappointment, only wait was there for her. Many hours had passed but the car which was sent to get Masab back home didn't reach the mansion.
After the bone-chilling wait, the horrible news reached their ears, and that was something that made Andaleeb's soul leave her body.
The flight Masab was on suffered from a crash, and it got destroyed as its engine caught fire. Every passenger and crew died at the spot, leaving none alive.
The news was running on TV, with the highlight of it being special because of the presence of the son and heir of the country, one of the biggest political parties in it, and him being one of the victims. The news was in everyone's mouth, and there was havoc that was going on in the Shah Mansion.
Andaleeb couldn't even believe on her hearing, and she collapsed to the ground, seeing the women crying hysterically around her. Her eyes even couldn't make any tears. She was in shock, and she didn't know what to do.
Did Masab just die?
Did he leave her like this?
How could he do this with her? He promised to live an eternity with her. He promised that he would never let her go. How could he then do the opposite?
'She is my deposit which I am going to leave here for a while.'
His voice reverberated in her ears when he asked Bi Jan to take care of her as his deposit. Who knew that it would really happen?
"No!" She whispered. "No, it can't happen. You can't leave me like this, Masab."
Tears finally made a way through her eyes, and then she cried nonstop.
She felt a tender touch over her shoulder and discovered it to be Bi Jan.
"Andaleeb beta, don't cry like that. It's not good for you," she pleaded.
"Bi Jan. How can he leave me like this? What should I do if not cry? My husband, the father of my child just left me. How will I survive without him?" She yelled.
Bi Jan kissed her hair. "Have patience beta. It was all that was written in fate. One can't challenge it, my love."
What would give her the patience when she loses her biggest strength and support in this world after Allah?
"Maybe I have to die to let you know how much I love you."
"I don't fear death, Andaleeb. A life without you is far worse than death. And those who love take pride if they die for love."
"Always remember me even if I won't be here."
His words were making a round in her ears and the sight of the moaning women was clenching her heart. He didn't have to do that. She already believed in his love. Why did he have to die to prove that? But maybe it was too late. Everything, every corner, and everyone was telling her that she had lost the man who loved her so much. And maybe that was the effect of her prayer, which she did once about his death, and it came true. She forgot to undo that or ask for his long life in return from Allah.
That was her fault.
