A middle aged woman with dirty blond hair, light brown eyes, tanned skin, and a torn white shirt with stained dirty jeans was curled up. She yelped at the appearance of Ann and Leon, their guns in her face. Her face was horrified. She had left swollen black eye. She backed into the game, putting her arms up covering her wounded face.

It was the woman from the photo. Jessica.

Ann put her gun back in her holster sleeve. They finally found the lady.

Ann lifted her hands to show she had no other weapon.

Leon put his gun away too and lifted his hands well. His face softened.

"Ma'am, we are from the U.S government. We're here to bring you home." He said soothingly, acknowledging the woman's scared shocked face.

"Have you seen my children?" She said frantically, voice shaking yet sounding clear.

Leon took the photos out of his pocket and showed the woman.

"Are these your children?" He asked calmly.

Jessica grabbed and stared at the photos anxiously for less than a second then snatched them from his hands, her arms shaking.

"Yes! Yes! Yes, these are my kids! Have you seen them?" She blurted excitedly yet, desperate.

"We'll find them. Don't worry." Leon replied to her.

Ann never knew this side of Leon. So kind and gentle. His usual hard exterior was now soft.

Leon motioned his head to Ann

"This is my Partner Ann" Leon said

Ann gave the woman a smile.

The woman looked back with a worried yet trusting face.

Leon helped her up.

"Do you know where they could have gone?" Leon said facing Jessica

She was smaller than both of the agents.

"No..." she started to say "When those things came out of nowhere, started attacking the other hotel guests and workers..." they went silent.

" The others had tried to escape, but got attacked when they went outside. They were surrounding the building. One by one people left. My kids were too scared to leave. So we stayed on this side... We had barricaded ourselves in an office. The kids were getting hungry, and my son Theo insisted we leave for food....We were in the garden at that moment, until a bunch broke in charging at us. I told them to run as fast as they could and hide. I fought the zombies off with a shovel laying on the floor left by the gardener. I ran and hid here." She explained, tears welling in her eyes. Leon put his hand on the woman's shoulder.

"We'll find them. Did you see which ways they went?" He asked.

The woman took a deep breath.

"I don't know... maybe..." she muttered.

Ann looked at Leon, then at the woman.

"Ma'am please, try to remember." Ann said, trying to be just as soothing as Leon.

"Uhm... I think my oldest boy, Theodore, went up the stairs. I saw him through the garden window. I don't know where the younger ones ran off to." Jessica said, her voice hiding back tears.

Ann looked back at Leon.

"We might have to split up." She said.

Leon nodded, "I'll take Jessica with me, I'll be able to take care of her." He said

Leon and Ann go their separate ways.

Ann slowly goes up the stairs, shooting any zombies that come her way.

The stairs went up two more stories.

The upstairs was a maze of hallways, each wall had a row of doors and room numbers. It looked abandoned.

The lights were almost completely out. There was no windows, allowing the glowing moonlight to shine in.

Ann clicked on her flashlight and shined it around the hallway as she slowly and carefully walked through. Some doors were open, making Ann able to see the rooms inside.

They were messy, some drawers were raided and missing. Items and decor were scattered on the floor, broken.

Ann thought of what could have happened, before she and Leon arrived.

The zombies must have spread across the hotel, brutally attacking the guests.

Plenty of residents must have escaped, evacuating the hotel at once. Causing all the destruction. Why wouldn't Jessica leave with her kids? Sure they were scared, and didn't wanna risk leaving in the raid of aggressive zombies, but maybe there was a chance they could have survived.

Then again, if they hadn't left the hotel, Ann and Leon would have never found them.
