Ann closed her eyes tightly and covered her ears. The force of the bomb pushed her body into the wall.
The bomb left smoke seeping from the room.
Ann coughed and opened her eyes.
The whole hallway was filled with smoke.
Leon lets go of her arm and opens the door, letting in more smoke.
The room was almost completely destroyed. Black scuffs caked the walls, and the tables and chairs were decimated. Parts were scattered all around the room. The lights were almost completely out, except for around two that were dim and flickering.
The only other slight light was from the moonlight coming from the broken windows.
Ann coughed from the smoke. She took her flashlight from her holster sleeve and flicked it on.
"Dude what the fuck? Seriously?" Ann says coughing from the lack of oxygen.
"Hey, you should thank me for saving you from the zombies," Leon says, rolling his eyes.
"Almost killed me in the process but thanks you saved me there." She gives him a slight smile.
"Let's continue to look around."
There were double doors at the back of the room. She and Leon walked toward it, trying their best to avoid the obstacles in their way.
The sign next to the door read "lobby"
Ann put her flashlight away. She could see a flickering light through the door, bright enough for the agents to see clear enough. She saw no movement either. She braced herself.
"I'm going to open the door Leon." Ann said.
Leon nodded.
Ann kicked open the door, the lobby was empty. Luggage carts had been pushed on the floor. The computers had been broken and cracked. Pamphlets and luggages were scattered on the floor. The gift shop to the side had been ransacked as well. The whole place was dingy and dirty. Where was everyone? It looked like everyone had evacuated.
Could the family they were supposed to save even still be here? Were they taken, or did they run out the building like everyone else?
There was a staircase to the right of them.
Ann held her gun tight. At any moment, a zombie could attack. There was another hall.
A sign saying
"Gym—>
Game room—>
Garden—>"
Was placed to the side.
"We should clear the bottom floor." Ann stated.
The two walked down the hall, holding up their guns..
They heard a shuffle coming from the game room.
Another zombie? Ann and Leon held up their guns, and pointed them towards the room, walking slowly.
They moved cautiously towards the sounds.
It was coming behind an arcade game.
The room was still pretty intact, other than a few games moved out of place and knocked down. The lights were still working other than a few chipping out and flickering.
She walked toward the game, pointing her gun straight at it. Her eyes locked on it.
She jumped behind the arcade game, holding up her gun.
