She pulled away suddenly, her arms still wrapped around his waist. She had to stretch her neck to look at him. "How could I just sleep when you didn't come home and weren't even contacting me?"

He smiled. "There's no specific time for my arrival at home. But before, you used to sleep without knowing whether I came home or not."

His eyes glowed with amusement but Andaleeb clenched her jaw and her own pretty eyes looked more prettier as they filled with anger. She suddenly left his waist and pulled away.

"Are you making fun of me?" She mumbled, slowly.

Masab cupped her face and bent down to her level. "Not at all. I am so happy to hear this from you that you were anxious for me."

She glared at him. "Do you feel happy by making me worried?"

He chuckled, pecking her forehead. "Meri jan tum pe qurban, sweetheart. Why would I like to see you in pain? But yes whenever it concerns me and your anxiety is for me, I can be a bit selfish to relish in it. Right?"

Andaleeb hit his chest in dismay. "You are again talking lightly about death. I won't talk to you."

Masab held her fist by which she was hitting his shoulder. "But death is inevitable, Andaleeb."

She snatched away her hand from his grip. "Pta ha Kya. Tum se mene bat hi nhi krni ha."

How easily the talk had shifted from his vague late return to home to once again his loose talks about death was something astonishing but Andaleeb hadn't noticed that.

She tried to move away but she only walked a few steps ahead when he approached her. Masab wrapped his arms around her stomach from behind. Her back hit his solid chest and she hissed, feeling already annoyed because tears had impinged on her eyes.

"Acha na, meri jan. Naraz kiun ho rhi ho? I am sorry. I won't say something like this," he whispered in her ear.

She swallowed the tears before moving around and staring back at him. Seeing his love-filled gaze, her anger really melted away.

She raised a brow. "Promise?"

He paused for a while; a stern expression occurred on his face before he nodded. "Yes, promise."

The smile that came to her lips hearing this was priceless. A sight that he wanted to lock in the secret of his heart forever.

"Will you have dinner?" She inquired.

Masab instead put his hands over her shoulders. "First tell me, did you eat anything yet?"

She shook her head while nudging her lower lip out. "I couldn't."

They both then went downstairs to the kitchen to have dinner. No one was awake at this time, and sneaking dinner with the love of your life like two dating teenagers felt weird and amazing at the same time. After dinner, they came back to the room. Masab excused himself to take a shower while she reclined on the bed in wait for him to join him later on.

A while later, he came back in his full glory with his strong and muscular chest and torso on full display for Andaleeb to drool over. She suddenly started yearning for him. He was wearing nothing but sweatpants, and it made her every pore tremble. He gave a quick, knowing glance to her before turning towards the mirror and combing his hair.

When he settled over the other side of the bed beside her, Andaleeb's hungry eyes traveled all over his body. That was a hunger that could never be satiated. She had so many levels of love for him. Many times, that was the sweetest, gentle most, and softest feeling. At times, it was passionate, fervor-filled, and languid.
