If it were still the same time and day, they would've been dodging the bullets left and right by now. The whole town would already consider them the enemy. But they weren't, were they? Not to mention, their family is nowhere to be seen. So being back to the harmless New Grumpson could only mean one thing -- the train led them somewhere beyond their own plane:
"A different timeline."

Meanwhile, the married duo separately took cover from the armed forces that shot at them so continuously. While Lila hid behind the stalls from afar, Diego hid behind the town founder's monument whilst still holding onto the three deer plushies. The situation they were in was dosing Diego with adrenaline.
"Hey!" he yelled to Lila, "Don't worry. I'm gonna go out, okay? You wait there." He advised, ready to protect the both of them with his long lost abilities.
However, Lila found that deal deplorable. "No, you stay. I'm gonna go." She shook her head.
"No, you stay. I go." Diego shot back.
"Don't tell me what to do!" Lila protested.
"Just let me make my own choices for now, okay?"
"I have laser eyes! I'm more powerful than you!"
"They're not even working!"
"They're gonna work! I feel it! They're gonna work!"
The argument only grew as the gun shooters were getting nearer. It only heated things up to the point where they were arguing about who should have the upper hand at this very moment.
Diego began to snap, "Why can't I just do something for myself right now!"
"Oh, my God, you'd never do anything if I didn't tell you what to do!" Lila spat back.
"I take out the trash!"
"This isn't about you!"
"Stay!"
"NO!"
"STAY!"
"Listen to me for once in you goddamn life!"
Much to Lila's dismay, Diego didn't listen. He was already up on his feet before he could hear her entire command.
As the rounds came closer, Diego jumped and double-barrelled up in the air gathering every single bullet that came his way. He manipulated all of them around his hands and ricocheted them all into each person's head that gunned them in the first place.
He watched them all go down to their quick demise, one by one. Some bullets even struck the stall where they sold mulled wine. "Did you see that?" Diego couldn't help but be in awe of the return of his powers. They really are back, he thought, referring to his extraordinary abilities.
The moment was cut short when he suddenly heard a shotgun getting cocked from behind. His body tensed up, but it was subtle enough to not let anyone know that he was caught off guard. With that, he slowly turned to the armed elf who turned out to be the very same elf that glared at them earlier. Diego wasn't sure if he could take him seriously at all, until the second the elf's hand was about to make the pull...
If it weren't for Lila's laser eyes that cut the elf's body in half.
"Yes!" She exclaimed with a grin.
"Really? You gotta one-up me like that?" Diego frowned childishly.
Lila responded with an amused chuckle before she turned back to the three deer plushies sitting on the snow. "It stings a bit." She said, picking them up while she blinked away the dryness of her eyes, "It does."
