The Problem with Degrassi, Glee, and other tv shows

I am quite annoyed at how the producers of tv shows think they know how teenagers talk.

Especially in Degrassi!!!!

I swear the most used words said on that show are "obvi" and "totes" and "duh".

Or how about in KC Undercover when KC always uses the word "swag"

Or in Liv and Maddie saying "yolo" like they're SOOO cool.

MOST TEENS DON'T TALK LIKE THAT. IF ANYTHING WE SOUND LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

They try WAYYY too hard to make the actors sound totes hip and relatable.

Then there's when those adults think they know what attracts teens. They put lots of "it things of the moment" in their show, if you know what I mean.

Again, Liv and Maddie, talking about the Gangnam Style about a couple months too late when it's died down already and NOBODY CARES.

Okay but lastly, the producers of tv shows (ones that contain a high school) seem to be running out of original ideas.

I imagine the script writers are having a meeting and this is what the discussion would be like:

"Okay team, we need a good idea for a new storyline. Whaddaya got?"
"Sir, I'm afraid I have tons of ideas, but none of them are good."
"Oh, it can't be that bad. Tell me your best one."
"I propose that the main character maybe should go to a coffee shop, then drink coffee."
"Um, that's it? For twenty minutes??"
"Yep."
"Ugh. This script team is terrible. Just make a girl get pregnant by the wrong guy, or have someone cheat on another person, a love triangle, or whatever."
"Uh, sir, with all due respect, those storylines were already used by approximately fifteen shows."
"I don't really care anymore. The kids just eat up this stuff! Now get to work."

I'm not making this up! Remember Clare from Degrassi and that cheerleader from Glee (sorry, I temporarily forgot her name) got pregnant with a dad they didn't want. And the cheating? Degrassi, Glee and a couple Disney channel shows were all about dat.

And love triangle?
Twilight
Hunger Games
Harry Potter

And another one I didn't mention is the idea of star-crossed lovers. You know, people who are in love with each other but have lots of trouble staying together.
Romeo and Juliet
Pocahontas
Aladdin
Degrassi (yea. every possible cliché could be found on this show)
Glee

So you people need to really step up your game.

Is there any cliché story idea I missed? Put it in the comments!

(but if we're being real here, i do love Degrassi. no hate)
