•Graduation Day•
Grayson's POV
It was graduation day. I was so excited & nervous. I had to give my valedictorian speech today. I stayed up all night writing it & revising it, trying to make it perfect.
I had so many butterflies in my stomach. But when I looked out to the stage & saw my parents, Mel's parents & Aidan all waiting for us, it made me realize how far I've come.
Ethan came up to me,
"Good luck, bro. You'll do great." He said.
"Thanks." I said nervously.
Ethan looked at me.
"So are you gonna do it today?" Ethan asked, knowing what he meant.
I nodded.
Ethan smiled & patted me on the back.
Mel came up to me.
I already had butterflies in my stomach & looking how gorgeous Melanie looked, didn't help.
She could tell I was nervous more than ever.
"You okay?" She asked.
I nodded.
She smiled & held my hand.
"It will be okay. I believe in you." She said as she gave me a quick kiss.
Soon, everyone was in their cap & gown. We all got in our line & walked in to the auditorium.
Once they called our names, we would go to the stage & receive our diploma. When we were all done, we all stood on the stage.
The principal gave her speech & I didn't pay attention, I was distracted by Melanie.
I kept looking at her. She was just so damn perfect.
I got more nervous & I can feel my chest beating outta my chest.
I came back to reality when I heard,
"...now here we have our valedictorian with his speech. He is a very strong & intelligent guy. I know he will do amazing things. Here we have, Grayson B. Dolan." She said ending her speech.
Everyone cheered & clapped for me.
As I walked up to the podium, I could feel myself shaking.
Once, I was there I could feel my face get burning hot & everyone's eyes on me.
I looked at the audience.
I saw my mom, my dad. My grandparents. My little Aidan sitting on Melanie's mom's lap next to her dad.
I looked back to Ethan. And most importantly, Melanie.
There was no going back now.
"Hello, everyone. First of all, I would like to congratulate all of the graduates of 2018 (idk what year to put lol). We all did it. We have put so much work to make it up here. We have been through hell & back to get to where we are & to go where we want to go. We could only decide where we will end up. No one can chose it for us. But you should always do the best for yourself to help you succeed. I feel that my secret to success is to have people around you that have your best interest & that will help you grow & support you because that's where it should all start. When you have an amazing support system & you have goals, you're pretty much set to reach any goal you want. I have been so beyond fortunate to have an army of people that have supported me through anything & I mean anything, the past few years."
I paused to breathe. I looked at Ethan & continued,
"Me & my twin brother, Ethan have always done everything together & have supported each other through everything & graduation together was no exception. So, I would like to thank you man, for always being by my side through everything. I don't know what I would have done without you. You are such an important person to me & I am proud to be standing on this stage with you, finishing high school next to you."
Everyone clapped & I continued my speech.
"I would like to also thank my amazing parents. Thank you so much. Honestly, thank you for always having my best interest at heart & for having my back through everything. I don't think I would be up here if it weren't for you guys. You guys keep me going. I don't think I can ever show you guys how forever grateful I am for being blessed with parents that care about me. But just thank you. For everything."
Everyone clapped.
But I continued,
"I wanna talk about a girl. A very special girl that I watched evolve into an amazing woman. She is my better half, my best friend, the biggest blessing in my life, she is...the love of my life...I don't even know what love was before I met her. I question myself how I was ever able to live without her."
I looked at her behind me & gave her the biggest smile of my life.
"When I first met this girl she was an adventure to discover but she made everything in life easier for me. I don't think I would be who I am today without her. She's changed me in so many ways. I can go on & on, but my love for her is infinite & I don't think I can ever imagine one day without her & loving her every step along the way & be able to share the experience of having a baby with her is unreal.
I never expected to be a father at 17 & raise a baby with her. But I...honestly...wouldn't have it any other way. I know I'm too young & it's a little to early in life to say this, but I am in love. Ever since I saw her through the halls in sophomore year, I knew one way or another she would be mine. And if you haven't guessed already, I am talking about Melanie Brooks."
I looked back at her.
"Melanie, when I fell in love with you, when you had my baby, when you let me take care of you; I asked myself 'How could I ever repay her for being so amazing? And being my rock & being the most perfect girl in the world for me?'
But when I saw you holding my child in your arms for the first time, I knew that you were the girl I wanted to wake up next to, the girl to argue with me, the girl to drive me crazy. The girl to spend the rest of my life with."
"Melanie, can you come up here?" I asked.
Melanie looked confused but happy.
I stood next to her.
I got down on one knee & took out the ring box.
Everyone gasped & squealed.
"Melanie Nicole Brooks, you deserve the world & I wanna give it to you. You are so good for me. You have made me a better man, a better boyfriend, a better son, a better brother, a better man, a better person & I want you to make me a better husband. I love you with all my of heart & I promise to care for you for the rest of my life, will you please marry me?" I said with such a relief. Knowing that I have finally asked the question I've been dying to get an answer out of.
Melanie got red & hid her face.
She cried as she put her hand against her mouth.
"Yes! A million times yes!" She said.
I gasped & everyone started cheering.
I put the ring on her finger.
Melanie cried harder.
I picked her up & spun her around.
My mom brought Aidan to the stage.
We carried him & then everyone threw their caps into the air & cheered.
Everything was such a success.
I graduated & was able to be engaged with the most amazing girl ever.
I have survived it all.
It may not all have been great but this girl has made my life an adventure & I wouldn't want to have it any other way.
Narrator: And that my friends, was the end to this sequel. We all got a happy ending...well some of us. But all in all, we survived when everything was just a game & we took a chance at round 2.
Author's Note: I hope this ending was everything you hoped for. Thank you so much for reading my stories & leaving your feedback. It really does mean a lot. I will be starting a new Grayson fanfic (yes, another Grayson one, sorry. I will make an Ethan one soon though.) very, very, soon. But thank you for everything. More stories coming soon, watch out!
