Chapter | 6

Melanie's POV
I was getting ready for my little surprise birthday dinner that Grayson organized for me. I wore a light pink dress with cream colored heels & some simple jewelry. Then I did my makeup.
Earlier that day, Grayson had taken me to the spa to get a massage & to go get my hair & nails done which was so sweet of him.
After I was done getting ready, I began to dress Aidan. I made him wear a pink Polo shirt with little dress pants & comfortable shoes for him to walk around with.
Once we were done getting ready, Grayson came home & he was already dressed.
"Oh my god, you look beautiful." He said.
I smiled.
He took Aidan from my arms & gave him little kisses.
"Okay, let's go. I have the car outside." He said as he held my hand & walked out.
I put Aidan in his car seat & then we got in the car & drove off.

As we arrived to the place, I admired how pretty it looked from the outside.
Grayson got Aidan & we all went in together.
Once we were in, there was a little ball room that was closed just for us. When I walked in, I saw someone I never expected to see.
My parents.
I looked over at Grayson.
"Did you invite them?" I asked him.
"Yeah. It's time this grudge between you guys to end. They want a relationship with you & Aidan."
I stood there & slowly walked up to them.
They looked at me & smiled.
My mom came to me with a hug & so did my dad.
"Hello, Melanie." My dad said.
"Hi." I said as I sat down at the big table where we are going to eat.
"How's everything, darling?" My mom said.
"Great. Amazing, actually." I replied.
My mom looked at me & tucked my hair behind my ear.
"You look more beautiful than ever." She said.
I smiled.
"Honey, we um. Owe you an apology. We should have never made you give up Aidan for adoption. And we shouldn't have ignored you for so long." My dad said.
"We were just afraid that he would have ruined your life...but he hasn't. He made it better. He's a blessing, every baby is. But we ask you from the bottom our hearts for your forgiveness." My mom said.
I looked at them for a moment.
I grabbed my mom's hand.
"I forgive you." I said.
My dad kissed my hand.
"Thank you & we are also very, very sorry for trying to separate you & Grayson. He really is a great guy & he loves you." My dad said.
I smiled.
"Everything is forgiven." I said.
My parents smiled.
I looked behind me & Grayson was holding Aidan in his arms.
"I do have someone I would like you guys to meet." I said as I stood up.
I walked over to Grayson & took Aidan from his arms.
I walked back.
"This is Aidan." I said with a smile as I sat him on my lap.
My mom looked at Aidan & rubbed his cheeks.
Aidan reached his arms out to my mom. She carried him as my dad played with him.
It warmed my heart to see this. I have wanted this for such a long time.
Soon, more of the guests came.
Tati, Ethan & a few friends came. And more people.

Tatiana's POV
I was sitting next to Ethan as we began eating. In between our meal, Ethan signaled me to go to the drink area.
I got up & we went to get more soda.
"What's up?" I asked him.
He looked at me.
"Okay, I need to tell you something exciting." He said.
"Yeah?" I asked.
Ethan looked around him to make sure no one was around to hear.
"Well, I'm just gonna say it...Grayson is gonna propose to Melanie." He whispered.
"Shut up! Oh my god! Really?!" I said excitedly.
"Yes! But shh, don't say anything." He said as he did a little jump of excitement.
I stood there so happy for Mel. Until I saw someone outside the ballroom.
"Will you excuse me?" I told Ethan as I walked out of the ballroom.
As I walked out, I felt someone pull me to the side.
It was Nicole.
"What are you doing here? Leave!" I said.
"Aw, c'mon Tati."
I looked at her.
"Nicole, leave please. You will ruin everything." I said.
"Not until I get my revenge."
"Please. I beg of you. Leave. You're gonna ruin it all."
She looked at me & raised an eyebrow.
"Ruin what? Is there something you're not telling me? Because I can just go right in there & tell your little best friend all of that we have done."
I sighed.
"Grayson is gonna propose to Melanie in a few." I said.
Her eyes widened.
"How long have you known about this?"
"For like 4 minutes Ethan just told me."
She let go of my arm & walked off.
And so did I.
I went back to the ballroom.
I was very worried of what Nicole would do. If I knew what Grayson was planning to do, then I would have dealt with Nicole differently.

Narrator: I love a good party crasher. Especially the ones that weren't invited.
