By the time they finally decided to head back to school, they were both grinning from ear to ear, their hearts light with happiness. They slipped back into the building just before lunchtime, their little adventure leaving them both feeling more connected than ever.
As they walked down the hallway toward the cafeteria, Yeonjun leaned in close to Beomgyu, his voice low. "Today was perfect," he whispered.
Beomgyu smiled, his heart full. "Yeah," he agreed softly. "It really was."

As the evening settled in, Yeonjun and Beomgyu found themselves lying on Beomgyu's bed after getting home from school, the soft glow of fairy lights casting a gentle warmth across the room. The day had been perfect—filled with laughter, teasing, and moments of pure joy. But now, in the quiet, the weight of their feelings hung in the air between them.
Beomgyu rested his head on Yeonjun's chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. There was something soothing about it, like the world felt safer when he was this close to Yeonjun.
"Today was amazing," Beomgyu whispered, his fingers tracing small patterns on Yeonjun's arm. "I almost don't want it to end."
Yeonjun smiled softly, brushing a hand through Beomgyu's hair. "Yeah... I don't think I've smiled this much in a long time. It's like... when I'm with you, everything feels better. Even the small things."
Beomgyu shifted slightly, lifting his head to meet Yeonjun's gaze. There was something tender in his eyes, something vulnerable that made Beomgyu's heart ache in the best way.
"You really mean that?" Beomgyu asked softly, his voice almost hesitant.
Yeonjun cupped Beomgyu's cheek, his thumb gently brushing over his skin. "Of course I do," he murmured. "You have this way of making me feel... I don't know, like I'm finally where I'm supposed to be. Like everything I went through before was leading me to you."
Beomgyu felt a lump form in his throat. He didn't know why he suddenly felt so emotional, but hearing Yeonjun say those words—it was like all the love he'd been carrying inside was finally being recognized.
"I used to be so scared," Beomgyu admitted quietly, his voice barely above a whisper. "Scared that I wouldn't find someone who gets me... who makes me feel safe. I've been hurt before, and I didn't think I could open up like this again."
Yeonjun's expression softened, his hand moving to gently hold Beomgyu's. "I know," he whispered back, squeezing Beomgyu's hand lightly. "And I get it. I've been scared too. But... I don't know, when I'm with you, all of that fear kind of fades away. You make me feel like I don't have to put on a show, like I can just be myself."
Beomgyu smiled softly, his heart swelling with affection. "You know... I feel the same way. I used to feel like I had to be perfect, like I had to make everyone happy all the time. But with you... I feel like just being me is enough."
Yeonjun's eyes softened even more, and he gently pulled Beomgyu closer, their foreheads resting against each other. "You're more than enough, Gyu," he whispered, his voice filled with sincerity. "You're everything to me."
A quiet moment passed between them, filled with nothing but the sound of their breathing and the soft hum of the city outside. Beomgyu closed his eyes, letting the warmth of Yeonjun's words wash over him.
"Promise me something," Beomgyu whispered after a moment.
"Anything," Yeonjun replied softly.
"Promise me that... no matter what happens, we'll always be honest with each other. That we'll always talk things through, even when it's hard," Beomgyu said, his voice trembling slightly. "I don't ever want to lose this... lose us."
Yeonjun's heart clenched at the vulnerability in Beomgyu's voice. He leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to Beomgyu's forehead before pulling back to meet his eyes.
"I promise," Yeonjun whispered, his voice steady and full of conviction. "We'll always talk. We'll always work through things together. No matter what happens, you'll never have to go through anything alone. I'm with you, Gyu. Always."
Beomgyu smiled, his eyes shining with unshed tears, and he pressed a soft kiss to Yeonjun's lips. It was a kiss filled with love, with gratitude, with the promise of everything they would share together in the future.
"I love you," Beomgyu whispered when they pulled away, his voice barely audible.
"I love you too," Yeonjun replied, his voice just as soft, but filled with so much emotion it made Beomgyu's heart flutter.
And for the rest of the night, they lay together, wrapped up in each other's warmth, knowing that no matter what the future held, they would always have this—their love, their trust, their deep connection that made everything else fade away.
