For Yeonjun, it was the best day ever—seeing Beomgyu smile so brightly made his heart swell with happiness.
After lunch, they found themselves outside under the warm sun, enjoying the crisp autumn air. Beomgyu leaned against a tree, watching Yeonjun as he animatedly talked about latest music releases. The world around them faded as Beomgyu took in the sight of Yeonjun's smile, realizing how lucky he was.
"Hey, do you want to go to the park after school?" Yeonjun suddenly asked, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Yeah! That sounds amazing!" Beomgyu replied, feeling a thrill at the idea of spending more time together.
As the school day came to a close, Beomgyu felt a mix of anticipation and nervousness about their outing. They walked side by side, hand intertwined, each step filled with promise of laughter and new memories to come.
Once they arrived at the park, they found a quite spot under a big oak tree. They spread out a blanket and settled down, skating snacks and playful banter. Beomgyu felt lighter than air, enjoying every moment with Yeonjun.
Before long, the two of them drifted off to sleep, nestled against each other beneath the sprawling branches of the oak tree.
———
Yeonjun stirred awake, his eyelids fluttering as he felt a cool drop of water land on his face. Blinking away the remnants of sleep, he glanced up at the sky, realizing that the once-clear blue had transformed into a blanket of gray clouds.
I guess they have been sleeping for quite some time.
"Beomgyu," he mumbled, nudging his boyfriend gently. "I think it's about to rain."
As Beomgyu stirred beside him, Yeonjun couldn't help but smile at how peaceful he looked, his hair tousled and a soft expression on his face. Just then, another drop fell, followed by a few more, prompting Yeonjun to quickly shake Beomgyu awake.
"Hey, sleepyhead! We should get inside before we get soaked!"
Beomgyu blinked, groggy from sleep, as he slowly registered the sound of raindrops pattering against the leaves overhead. "What's happening?" he murmured, rubbing his eyes.
"It's raining! We should probably move before we get drenched!" Yeonjun said, glancing up just as the rain began to fall more steadily.
"C'mon, let's go!" Beomgyu exclaimed, suddenly energized. He jumped to his feet, pulling Yeonjun up with him. Before they knew it, they were both laughing as they dashed from under the oak tree, the rain soaking them almost immediately.
"Ah! It's cold!" Beomgyu squealed, but his laughter only grew as the rain drummed down around them.
"Cold? You mean refreshing!" Yeonjun teased, splashing through a puddle, causing water to fly up and hit Beomgyu in the legs.
"Hey!" Beomgyu shouted, feigning anger but unable to hide his grin. He splashed back, water spraying Yeonjun, who laughed heartily.
They raced through the rain, their laughter echoing off the nearby buildings, the world around them blurring in a wash of gray and green. Beomgyu felt free, his heart light as they sprinted hand in hand down the street.
