Chapter 29 – Powers Released

A breeze passed through the room the following morning as Giselle opened her eyes slowly. She felt her head pounding and her stomach turning but that wasn’t the only thing she had come across that morning. Isaac was lying next to her with his arm around her waist, embracing her and she would do anything to stay in that position with him for the rest of the day. They were cuddling and she never pictured this to happen, not ever.

His breathing told her that he was fast asleep; it was light but still filled the air. She stood perfectly still hoping not to wake him and not wanting to go to class at all. For one, the boy of her dreams had his arms wrapped around her and secondly she had this sharp pain in her head from all the alcohol from the night before.

Giselle thought of the previous night remembering all the events. She wasn’t drunk enough to forget them. She felt like scolding herself when she realized she admitted her feelings to Isaac. Never did she want to be the one to tell him first but it was something that couldn’t have been controlled. She was drunk and all she wanted was for him to listen to how she felt. Obviously it didn’t go to waste since here Isaac was holding her tight in the early morning.

She couldn’t help but smile to herself as she lied there, basking in the affection he was giving her. If she could melt then she would do just that. Her feelings were growing deeper and she just hoped that this meant he felt the same, that somewhere deep inside Isaac wasn’t as emotionless as he portrayed and he actually had feelings for her too.

Suddenly she felt his breathing stop, she wondered what was wrong until he removed his arms from around her and yawned. In moments he was sitting up and Giselle turned in the bed to face him, smiling as if she was a kid in a candy store. She was just too happy for words.

“Good morning.” He spoke, he leaned over and put his hand through her hair.

She grinned. “Good morning, I know for a fact you slept well.”

He chuckled a bit before standing up, Giselle realized he was shirtless and her eyes went wide before she choked on her tongue. He wasn’t incredibly muscular but he was lean and had tight abs with broad shoulders. She watched him as he walked over to his dresser and threw on a brown button up. He buttoned his shirt and spoke up. “How long have you been awake?”

“Uh-Um, not long. Maybe a couple minutes.” She averted her gaze realizing she couldn’t focus if she watched him in his boxers. “I didn’t want to wake you.”

            “You didn’t have to.”

            “What do you mean?”

“My senses are a lot sharper than yours, Ms –”

“Just call me Giselle.” She muttered interrupting him.

He turned to her. “It’s out of respect.”
