Chapter 17 – One strand of hair and the Letter

Jonah walked into the spells and enchantments shop on campus. His brown hair was practically hopping as he jumped with joy, not literally because he didn’t want to look like a complete fool but almost. He felt a grin creeping on his face as he walked through the shop, knowing not only that this was his second home but that he might get a chance with the only girl he had feelings for.

Anyone at the academy who wasn’t a warlock or a witch would most likely freak out while at the shop. Glowing heads lay around, that talked to you as you passed them. They were the warlock’s version of security cameras. The walls of the shop grew wider and longer as you passed different isles like a bad nightmare, the color of a reddish brown. The floors were a cream color and your foot left an imprint on the floors as you walked on them, they would fade into the ground after time. There were Isles and Isles of books, potions, weird ingredients and more laying around, each one of them having their own section. At the end of the shop was a woman who would charge you and ring up your stuff.

The woman seemed average; from far she looked impossibly beautiful, her blonde hair moving without a fan and a radiant smile. Jonah knew it was a trick, because as you moved closer the more repulsive she showed up in your eyes. Her blonde hair turning shades of green as you approached and her teeth going wooden.

Jonah stopped in the books section, he opened a wide velvet colored purple book. The outside of it was dusty but most of them showed up at the shop that way, the newest books looking crazily old like they were in a house untouched for centuries.

The wording across the front of it was silver, shimmering and almost dancing as he opened it. The title read ‘Spells and Potions for the Hopeless’. Under it in tiny barely eligible letters was the word ‘romantic’. Jonah opened the book quickly turning page after page, stopping abruptly at the page he was looking for.

The page was blank. Jonah shut his eyes and let out a sigh.

Love spell on separating. He thought. She belongs with me.

The page lit turning a bright white, sparkles swirled on the page as he held the book tightly hoping for the perfect spell to show up. Finally, the page turned a burgundy color with silver words beginning to show up on the page like a greater force was talking directly to him.

Looking to separate the one you love from their partner? Well, yes! There is a spell for that, unfortunately this gifted academy handbook states that in order to get the Zeptoria enchantment book then you must be rewarded it from your spell teacher. Sorry to tell you that this spell will only last 6 hours unlike the main handbook that might allow it to last forever. BUT if you would like to know the replica allowed for second years at the academy then tap the page two times, if not then put the book back on the shelf.

Without hesitation Jonah tapped the page twice. It felt like eternity as he watched the words wipe off the page. Patiently he waited for the new words to appear wondering if they ever would.
