After leaving Gerard and Mikey's house, I start my walk home. The walk is quiet and calming. I wish I could do this everyday. Just walking around surrounded in only my thoughts.
As I reach the red door at the front of my house, I'm hit with a surge of panic. What will my parents think of me being late? Are they even home? My dads car is in the driveway, but he could have walked to the liquor store down the block. Or maybe to a drinking buddy's house. He didn't care when I was late from detention, but then again, he was passed out on the floor. I suppose he could be passed out now, but he's usually awake by this time.
I twist the knob, and enter the house. It reeks of alcohol as usual, no surprise there. I hear drunken laughing in the kitchen, so my dad probably has "friends" over. He doesn't talk to them. He just drinks with them. I'm pretty sure they don't even like my dad, they just hang out with him for the booze. I almost feel a tiny bit sorry for my dad. Almost. I guess I just have a big heart.
"Hayley! Get over here!" my father drunkenly slurs. I enter the kitchen to find around ten men sitting and standing around the table where various bottles of alcohol sit. My dad approaches me, and begins to tug at the hem of my shirt.
"N-no," I stutter.
"What did you just say?" he says, instantly becoming 10x more intimidating.
"I said no," I say bravely. He steps towards me this time grabbing my hips with such force I'm sure to have bruises. He places his lips sloppily on mine, and begins to unzip my black jeans, all while his "friends" watch.
When he's finished, he kicks me in the ribs a few times before he and his friends exit through the front door. I stand and fix my clothes, then walk to the pantry, and grab a granola bar. I eat it quickly and walk back up to my room trying to ignore the pain between my legs.
I shower quickly and put on a cat onesie. I then lay in bed and state at the ceiling, thinking of today's events. I'm still shocked that Gerard touched me and I didn't flinch away. Not only that, but I think I might have liked it.
I wake up to my phone ringing. I grab it and see the caller ID, Frank.
"Hey what's up short stack?" I ask.
"You're shorter than me! The guys and I are having a party tonight at Bobs house we wanted to know if you wanted to come. Oh, and could you ask Abby to come too?" he says and his voice cracks towards the end when he's talking about Abby. He so likes her.
"Yeah, I can come and I'll ask, on one condition," I say.
"What is it, you devil lady?!" Frank asks dramatically.
"You have to tell Abby you like her!" I smile.
"Maybe I will! But you have to tell Gee you like him!" he says.
"How did you know? I can't tell him!" I start to panic.
"It's so obvious! You both like each other, you have to tell him!"
"Wait, you think he likes me?"
"It's pretty obvious. The way you laughed at all of his jokes during detention, and smile everytime he looks at you. It's pretty adorable. Anyways, I gotta go, I'll see you tonight. Bye Hayley,"
"Bye Fronkeh," I say before hanging up.
*30 minutes before party*
I quickly straighten my hair, and add a line of winged eyeliner on each eye. I then put on a short black dress that is loose around the bottom. After sliding on a pair of black flats (because heels aren't fun) I leave for Bob's house. It's freezing cold, considering its January, but I don't care. I couldn't care less about hypothermia.
I send a quick text to Abby telling her to meet me at the party. I probably should've given her more notice on this, but whatever, she was probably just on tumblr anyway.
I arrive a few minutes later, and am greeted by the sound of punk music blasting from the house. The scent of alcohol fills my nose, a scent I am all too familiar with. Maybe I shouldn't go in. There could be a bunch of drunk dudes who could rape me. There could be slutty girls who could ruin my life with the snap of her manicured fingers. But I guess my friends wanted me here, so I shake my fears away, and walk in the house.
I immediately see my small group of friends, including Abby sitting on the couch with large groups of people dancing around them to Dance, Dance by Fall Out Boy. I walk over to them, and smile.
"Hey guys," I say, still smiling.
"Oh my gosh Hayley you look gorgeous!" Abby squeals.
"Thanks Abby, but you look much better," I insist, looking at her outfit. She has on a navy blue flow-y dress with long lacy sleeves that comes about mid-thigh. She also has on a pair of knee high brown boots, and her hair is in a nice side braid. She must have really put some effort into this. I guess she wanted to impress Frank, but I can't blame her.
"Let's just say you both look great," Ray laughs. I smile genuinely at him, and sit on the couch next Gerard.
"Hi Gee," I say.
"Hey, what's up?"
"Nothing. Just wondering what to do," I say honestly, remembering what Frank said. Is it really obvious that I like Gerard? is it obvious enough for him to notice?
"Here, have a drink," Bob says, suddenly appearing behind the couch. He hands me the red cup, and I look at its contents.
Should I really drink this? I know the effects of alcohol. I could end up embarrassing myself.
"What are you waiting for Hayley?" Mikey asks. I look back at the cup, and decide to drink it.
The liquid burns my throat as I swallow. I feel a bit tipsy almost immediately. Should I really have drank that?
Eh, who cares? I want another. I grab another and drink it quickly, feeling dizzy soon after.
"LET'S PLAY TRUTH OR DARE!" Frank yells. I'm in.
