Jesse PoV

I was lying on my bed, deep in thought, throwing into the air and catching a small stuffed puppy that I had received from Katelyn when we had went out on one of our dates. It seemed like yesterday that we were together- Oh wait! It was...

I threw the puppy into the air again but as I was going to catch it I heard someone knocking at my door. I lost my focus and the puppy fell square in my face. I laughed, pulling myself off the bed and made my way to the door. I opened the door and was pushed aside by a very angry Katelyn. I smirked to myself, shutting the door behind her.

She paced the floor in front of my bed, anger rolling off of her in waves. She was mumbling something unintelligible to herself as she paced while clenching and unclenching her fists. I sat down on my chair that was next to my bed and watched as she tried to calm herself. She didn't seem to be calming down and she was making me dizzy with all the pacing so I lifted myself off the chair and grabbed her into my arms. The contact with me made her jump and my heart clenched at this but I brushed it off and pulled her into my lap.

I rocked her gently whispering to her gently, "It's fine Katelyn. What happened?"
"My father." She said, simply. From that I understood so much, her father had never approved of us. He was a great advocate for mate pairs and never understood the love I held for his daughter that no other could replace her in my heart. I continued rocking her, "What did he do now?" I asked her gently.

"He did the stupid test on Craven," she said in an irritated tone, pulling out my arms to turn around and face me. "Did he pass?' I asked her, this test was very important to her family, to ensure their pups were in good hands with their mates and even more important to an overprotective father like Alpha Kalin. "Yes he did, Dad mind-linked me and told me. Dad's ecstatic at his new "son-in-law" because Craven actually did too well. He broke Tajo's leg and almost killed Julian," she said, shaking her head in disbelief.

"What?!" I exclaimed, my eyes widening, "Are you serious?" She nodded quietly. Alpha Kalin would be beaming right now. Tajo and Julian are two of the strongest pack guards of the East and for that kid to beat them was impressive. That goes to show he was a product of my father and brother's training. She crossed her arms and sighed, "I need to get back to my room because he will be back soon, with his wolf in control." Oh yeah. His wolf, the wolf that had the most self-centered personality.

Katelyn started moving towards the door and I cut her off, grabbing her hands into mine, "Katelyn are you happy with him? You know you can just tell me when you are ready and I will pack up and we will leave here and start our own pack and never look back. We are both Alphas it will work."

She was about to say something but the door flew open and slammed against the wall, a split forming lengthwise up the door. "There will be none of that with my mate, wolf" Craven's wolf's voice rumbled. I turned around to see a terrifying looking Craven outside of my door. His face was lined with grey fur and his ears were pointed, his fangs elongated and his eyes were that eerily blue colour. I grabbed Katelyn to me and stood against Craven's wolf, He snarled at me now that I had Katelyn in my arms. "Release her now or I will kill you,"

Katelyn pushed herself out of my arms before I could retaliate, looking irritated. "I will talk to you later Jesse. Just let me deal with this bad dog" she said baring her canines at him. He whimpered, submitting to her before turning his hateful gaze back at me. She stomped towards him, grabbing his arm and pulling him away. His dangerously powerful aura that was looming over the room instantly faded away as she made contact with him. Around her, he was reduced to nothing more than a pup. I guess it was true a wolf's greatest strength and weakness is his mate.

As they left, I fell back onto my bed, putting a pillow over my head and screaming at the top of my lungs until I fell asleep.
