I said this chapter wouldn't take so long! Anyway, 3,925 reads?! AWESOME! I feel so proud of my story. Can't believe I reached these biiiiiig number, hahaha. Thank you, thank you so much!
I hope you like this chapter. I think it's a bit boring, but I promise the next one will be better. Have fun guys!
I woke up in the morning feeling like the happiest girl in the world. What did you think I was going to say? P. Diddy? Honestly, I don’t even know who he is. I just heard it somewhere in school. Two cheerleaders were listening to their stupid songs and I heard them.
Anyway, I got up and took a quick shower. Then I got dressed and I got downstairs to take breakfast. My mom was already in the kitchen making me pancakes. Dear lord, how I love pancakes!
“Good morning sweetheart” My mom told me almost singing. I chuckled silently and took my seat next to my father who was reading the newspaper. “Did you sleep well?”
“Yes, thank you. Good morning daddy!”
“Good morning bumble bee.” Yes, my dad calls me bumble bee do you have a problem with that? I actually think it’s cute. My father is awesome. He used to be a rockstar until my mom got pregnant and he had to quit the band. Why? Because my grandfather forced him to marry my mother and to work in his company doing something absolutely boring.
Anyway, my dad is amazing and I love him and if I told him I want to change my look he would let me do that. Too bad my mom is a drama queen.
“Daddy, what would you say if I told you I want to change my look?”
“I would say: go for it you should have done that a long time ago.” See, my dad is fantastic. “But why are you asking me that, do you want to change your look?”
“Well…”
“What? Why would you do that? You’re gorgeous the way you are!” Oh no, drama queen time. “I can’t believe I raised you like a strong independent woman who prefers brains over looks so you can ruin everything I’ve done for you!” Told you she was overdramatic.
“Mom...”
“What will my friends say? Oh, no, I can’t even imagine!” And then she started to cry.
“Mom, I don’t like the way I look. I wouldn’t be less strong or independent if I dressed differently. Besides, you know everybody teases me in school for dressing the way I do. I can’t take it anymore!”
“Darling, get used to it. They’re just jealous because you’re smart and they’re dumb.”
“I don’t want to get used to it, I want to change.”
At that moment, my mother was already crying like a baby. I couldn’t believe she refused to let me change. I mean, I was sixteen years old, I could take care of myself.
“I have to go to school. Bye daddy!” I kissed my dad on the cheek and left the house. My mom was having a drama crisis so I just left without saying anything and the last thing I could hear was my father saying:
“You know, she’s right…” Two points for Juliet Miller!
I was doing my victory dance when I saw Gerard sitting on the sidewalk with two cups in his hands.
I stopped, looking at him disbelieving. What was he doing at my door?!
“Gerard?”
“Good morning!” He looked at me smiling and delivering me one of the cups. “I stopped by Starbucks to buy a coffee and I thought you would like it.” That definitely wasn’t normal. I looked at my cup suspiciously. “Go ahead, I’m not trying to drug you or anything.” He laughed while I drank the liquid. Oh, hot chocolate, my favourite!
“This is so good!” I almost yelled enjoying the taste of my amazing drink. Gerard laughed again. “Thank you so much!”
“Good to know you like it.” We started do make our way to school when I got courage to ask.
“Why were you at my door?”
“I don’t know, I just missed you.” Was he kidding me?! “And don’t look at me that way, I’m serious.”
“I don’t believe you.” He stopped walking and looked at me disbelieving. I didn’t believe him at all. I mean, since he arrived my school he had already dated several girls. Even Ashley, the peroxide blonde. “I’m sorry Gerard, but you can’t just tell me those things. You have to show me you feel them. I mean, you are the school player.”
“I’m sorry to know you think like that.” Gerard looked away thinking but in the following moment his eyes were glued to me once again. “But I’m willing to change your opinion about me.” He smiled again. Gosh, that boy loves to kill me with his smile!
“Oh yeah? And what will you do?”
“You’ll see.” He kept walking with an odd smile on his face. Oh, no. Why had I the strange feeling he was going to change my life forever?! I just hoped it would be for better because my life is already weird and bad enough.
“You scare me.” I told him.
“Surprisingly, you’re not the first who says that.” We had arrived our school and everyone was giving us weird looks and making comments. Nice job Miller, all those attempts to be unnoticed and now everyone could see you perfectly next to Gerard. “My friends are there. I’ll meet you the next break?”
“Yeah, sure.”
“Ok, then. See you later.” He kissed my forehead and left heading to his group of friends. Suddenly I felt alone and helpless in the middle of all those people. But that wasn’t the worst. When I realized, I had been surrounded by Ashley and her friends.
“Miller, we need to talk.”
Oh yeah, this is going to be a long day.
