Hey guys! First of all, I want to say sorry for being so late at uploading my chapters but I've been busy with school. I promise it won't happen again.
Then, I want to thank you all for reading my story and you don't know how happy I am for having 1,662 reads. Seriously, thank you. You make the writer.
So, here is the third chapter and I hope you enjoy it!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A week had passed since Michael's little reception and that was his gate to hell. The football team was always teasing him, pushing him and making him fall everywhere they find him. I almost felt bad for him. Almost? Yes, you read it perfectly. I didn't felt bad for him or even tried to help him because our wonderful and lovely Mr. Way had told me to leave him alone. I don't know if you remember but he clearly said: "Do me a favour and don't talk to me, unless it is academically necessary." And that's what I did.
That's why I was standing in the middle of his bedroom with the Chemistry books on my hands. I was waiting for Michael to come back from the kitchen. I was looking for his walls and wondering how the hell a nerd had so many rock band posters when Mikey came in.
"Here is cup of tea." He said with certain contempt on his voice. Poor child, he's still grumpy for what happened with the football team beasts.
"Thank you." Mikey sat on his bed with a jar of biscuits in his hands. He took one and ate it right away.
"So, what will be our project about?" He spoke with is mouth full. My face automatically made an expression of disgust. Rude boy, didn't your mother told you it is rude and gross to speak with your mouth full of food?!
"It could be about chemical reactions and electric power." I answered after drinking my tea. He was looking at me with a thoughtful face.
"Yes, it is a good idea." Eat that sucker! I'm the one who gives good ideas now would you please stop being such a brat and just smile?! "Let me just get my laptop, I left it downstairs yesterday when I was watching Star Wars." And he left the room trying to find his notebook.
I was bored. Doing a Chemistry project wasn't the best thing on earth. However doing it with Michael was a total nightmare. I mean, he didn't like me at all!
Since I had nothing to do I stood up and approached his desk. It was the messiest desk I had ever seen. Lots of sci-fi DVDs were scattered along with a bunch of papers full of weird theories about aliens. Actually they were great theories. Mikey was smarter than I thought. But then something aroused my curiosity. Above the desk it was a big placard with lots of pictures, notes and first-place medals of Science fairs. Nevertheless what I was really looking at was for a picture of Michael and Gerard. They were standing next to giant statue of an angry bear. Mikey was pretending to run away from the bear while Gerard was with a kung fu pose. I laughed at the photo and the next thing I noticed was listening to a familiar voice.
"Pretty cute, huh?" Argh, that stupid bastard caught me looking at the picture.
"The bear? Yeah. I just wish it was real." I turned around and saw Gerard too close to me. My heartbeat accelerated and when I noticed his lips were almost touching mine. "What are you doing here? Don't you have like other girls to kiss?"
"I do have other girls to kiss but for some reason I only want to kiss one." He smiled at me. I couldn't move. He was just too perfect. Miller, I'll kill you if you don't move in this exact moment! Move! Hello?
"Save it for the ones who actually believe in you." Lucky me, I could speak!
"And why don't you believe me?" He raised his eyebrow and I took that as a challenge.
"Why would why?" I gave him an evil smile. He wasn't going to be the winner of this conversation. Oh no, he wasn't.
"Well, first of all: you don't know me. And second: you didn't give me a chance to show you who I am." Good point. Argh, I hate you Gerard Way. Why do you have to be so right?!
"Very well. Let's suppose I'd let you show me who you really are. What would happen if I didn't like it?"
"I wouldn't bother you anymore." Suspicious, but I don't mind taking that risk. I mean, Gerard was hot! And I was... a nerd! It wasn't every day that a cute guy liked me.
"Ok then. You got your chance, don't screw it!" And when I finished the sentence Michael got into the room and saw us.
"Gerard? What the hell are you doing here?!"
"Calm down, little brother. I just came to get X-Men, Ray can't stop asking me to borrow you the movie."
"How did he know I have X-Men?"
"Dude, you're a nerd. It's quite obvious." I almost burst in laughs as Gerard said that but I stayed quiet. He quickly grabbed the X-Men movie and left the room. Mikey had a funny look on his face and I couldn't help laughing a bit. "Thank you very much for laughing at me."
"I'm sorry." I stopped laughing and sat on the bed. "What took you so long?"
"My mom called. She wanted to know if we were going there for the weekend."
"You guys don't live with your parents?"
"No." Well thanks a lot for the short answer. I could have guessed it on my own.
"Oh, okay then. Let's get started?" He opened his laptop and turned it on.
"Tell me something, why was my brother here?" He spoke without looking at me.
"He came to get the X-Men movie."
"That's what he said but you know I don't believe you. Now tell me the truth." Well, I'm sorry Mr I-know-you're-lying but I won't tell you the truth. And I don't remember asking you to be my substitute father.
"He came to get the X-Men movie." I repeated. "You know, you shouldn't be so suspicious. He wouldn't lie to you, I mean, he is your brother."
"Exactly."
And that was the end of the conversation. The next two hours were based on us doing our Chemistry project. What did he mean by "Exactly"? I was starting to get worried about giving Gerard a second opportunity. Once a player, always a player.
