Mikey and I finished our project when the moon had already reached the sky.
It was dark when I left the house. I must say I was a bit afraid of being completely alone in the street at night. But whatever, I’m a strong independent woman; no stupid man can hurt me. Or kidnap me, or kill me, or... HELP?!
I was walking down the street looking everywhere and trying not to find a killer when I heard a noise coming from my back. “Oh my god, he found me!” I thought.
And now you’re wondering: what did you do, Juliet? Did you run away or did you look back and you fought the killer?
Well, you see... I have a thing that when I’m in panic situations I paralyze and I can’t move even if I want to. So it’s not hard for you to guess what I did in that particular situation.
I stayed there, hugging my books with my eyes closed and waiting for my terrible fate to reach me. I heard him get close to me and the next thing I noticed was a noisy laugh conquering the street.
“Good to know you would wait for me if I wanted to kill you.”
Gerard Way, once again.
“You idiot! I was panicking here! How could you?”
My muscles relaxed once I heard him making fun of me. Well, at least he wasn’t going to kidnap or kill me.
“I didn’t mean to scare you like this. I was just going to offer you my company.”
“Why?”
“I just didn’t want you to go home alone. This street can be dangerous sometimes, you know.”
Wait a minute, he was actually worrying about me? Really? I mean, really?!
“Why do you care?”
“You gave me a chance to show you who I am. And that’s what I’m doing.”
At that point, we were almost at the end of the street and my house was two blocks away from there.
I didn’t want to say anything. I enjoyed his company without needing to talk too much.
“So, tell me. Why are you like that?” He asked smiling at me.
“Like what?”
“Like that... like a nerd.” Nerd? Bad Gerard, bad, bad Gerard! “I didn’t mean to say that way. I just want to know why you dress like that and so. I mean, you’re beautiful.” That’s better, good boy!
“My mom... she thinks girls should be recognized by their brains, not their looks.”
“Oh. But does she forbid you to wear other clothes?”
“I don’t know exactly. I only tried to wear normal clothes once and she started to cry.” Yeah, my mom is a little overdramatic. I mean, she actually cried like a baby girl when I put my shorts on with a cute girlish shirt. And then she called me a slut, but that doesn’t matter. She had a very strict education in a nun boarding school so I understand her attitude towards my look.
We didn’t say anything. We just walked and walked until we arrived my street
“You can just leave me here.”
“Mom issues?”
“Yup...”
“You know, you shouldn’t let your mom control your life like that. You’re a beautiful girl and you need to show the world you’re not like those sluts from our school. And if you want to change you should change even if she doesn’t like it. It’s your life, not hers.” I didn’t answer. He was actually right. But how could I tell my mom I didn’t like to dress like that or wear those gigantic glasses which covered my face. I didn’t like to be the girl I were but if I told my mother she would probably send me to a boarding school or a mental hospital. Either way, she would think I’m crazy.
“Well, see you tomorrow.” Gerard smiled at me with those beautiful teeth almost shinning like stars.
“Bye.” I smiled too making my way to my house which was the pink one at the end of the street.
I felt Gerard’s look on my and I smiled even more. This couldn’t be happening. I mean, a hot guy walking me home? Giving me advices and calling me beautiful?
Yeah, I’m dreaming again and I definitely don’t want to wake up!
