"Kyelana," My boss was talking to me via earpiece. "This is not your usual techie" I typed away on my computer as I hacked a new target's device. That was my job anyway, looking for hackers who love finding out government secrets.
"First of all, techie's not a word. Secondly, what do you mean?" I rolled my eyes, my boss loved beating around the bush.
"He's..." My boss stalled as I waited in silence, "what you would call tech smart, tech savvy? He's different."
"What do you mean, Katie?!" I asked, "I've dealt with a lot of guys and girls before!"
"That is no way to talk to your boss!" Ms. Cofae shouted at me. I shut up. "Anyways, even Agent Natalia Kord couldn't do it. Janice did an analysis, and he's infiltrated all kinds of information from different nations."
I was silent for a good few minutes, I was too busy concentrating. Suddenly, the screen on my computer glowed green and a huge T appeared on my screen.
"Hahaha! You can't hack Thorn! That would be Terrrriiibleeee" I heard the computer speak in a high-pitched voice. Then, my computer screen turned black. How annoying! I thought.
"What the heck!" I typed on my keyboard harder than I usually did. All my files were deleted and my computer had been restarted. It seemed like the sound of the keycaps were loud because my boss got mad at me.
"Hey! I warned you that he was different than your usual batch!" My boss yelled at me through the earpiece. "You better not be damaging company tech!"
"Whatever!" I slammed my computer screen down. "I paid for this computer when I started working!" The line went silent once again, I guessed Katie must have realized her mistake.
"It's ok if you lost him, Agent Kye. Just do better with the next one." My boss tried to calm me down.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah..." I said.
A few days later I got a ping on my phone. Before I got locked out of Mr. Thorn's computer, I placed a tracker in his chip. To make sure that whenever he moved his computer, I would know where he was.
"An arcade?" I looked at my phone's map app, "What kind of hacker is this guy?" I arrived at the location thanks to the fact that Janice, my boss's secretary, knew how to drive a motorcycle.
"Do you really have to do this?" Janice complained as I dismounted from her motorcycle. Janice took off her helmet, and let her raven hair fall down.
"I have to make up for it, Jan, " I put my hand in my pocket where a gun was, "would you want to get fired?" Janice shook her head.
"No I wouldn't..." She mumbled like a child.
"Come on, I know you want to go over to your boyfriend." I raised my eyebrows at her. I was still surprised she had one.
"He's not my-" Janice sighed, she knew that I figured it out by hacking into her phone. I handed Janice the helmet she lended me.
"Why do you have so many pictures together then?" I teased. Janice didn't say anything, she only put her helmet back on.
"Whatever, I'm going home." Janice turned on her engine. I heard the loud noise as her red motorcycle came to life.
"HOME TO YOUR BOYFRIEND?" I yelled as she drove off. She made sure to leave a mouthful of smoke for me.
I turned around to face the arcade, it seemed shady. The building was painted black with no windows except for a lot of neon signs. The arcade had a big sign over the door: FIVE OF SPADES.
