The sun rose high in the air with its bright rays blinding you through the open window.

Its light reveals all. From your unkempt hair to the little drool rolling down the side of your face.

Groaning at the rude awakening you turn away only to suck in a breath at the fresh pain.

The bruises on your side match the ones decorating your back. The purple and blue coloring is a striking color against your skin.

Limping you get off your small mattress on the floor and quietly leave your room. After a quick look around you sneak towards the bathroom and clean yourself up.

After brushing your teeth you look in the cabinet for the cream to put on your bruises and frown at the empty tube.

You would need to buy more but judging from last night neither of your parents would be in a good enough mood to give you money.

Usually, you would just stay home these days, and let your bruises heal without worry of accidentally hurting them. But you couldn't stay in today.

Not when Lloyd had told you yesterday that he had bad news. Not when he was begging you to come today while sobbing.

After digging through the couch cushions and the clothes strewn around the room you finally gathered enough money to buy at least one tube of cream.

Excitedly changing into clean clothes and shoes you left the house before your parents could wake up.

They wouldn't care even if you did tell them.

After making a stop at the nearest store you left for the playground where you always met Lloyd.

The sun was shining, the buildings were warm but not hot. All in all, it was a good day in Jamanakai Village.

After sitting down a swing you began to apply the cream as you thought back on how you met Lloyd.

"Don't wander too far away!" A woman yelled as multiple children left a big house.

"That includes you too Lloyd!" A small blonde boy with emerald eyes striking enough to glow huffed and pouted at those words.

"Why not?!" He whined as he stomped his foot. "I'm going to find my dad, the great Garmadon. Then we'll rule Ninjago together!"

The woman sighed in exasperation before pushing him lightly by the shoulders towards the playground.

"You can do that when you're older and actually look like Garmadon. For now, go play with the others!"

Grumbling Lloyd stomped over to the playground as the other kids ignored him with little giggles.

His skin flushes in embarrassment before he flees to the other side of the playground. The sounds of the other kids playing together make him sulk as he looks to the ground.

He wasn't jealous. He wasn't jealous. There's no way he's-

"Are you jealous?"

Lloyd jumps at the innocent voice above him his head whips up. Locking eyes with a girl around his age lounging in the tree Lloyd blanches.

"What are you doing up there?!"

The girl just shrugs and bites into an apple before holding one out to him.

"I'm just hanging out. Want an apple?"

A brat as always, Lloyd turns his head away with a huff. "No! Why would I want a dirty apple? And I'm not jealous!"
