"Do you even have an idea what you are saying?" He crossed his both arms on his chest as the smirk on his face was replaced with an alluring smile.
"Okay now, let's come to the point." I stepped towards him, "I will give you double the amount of this book. Are you willing now?"
He didn't say anything just the smile on his lips growing deeper. She took this as the signal of his inclination as my hand went down the strap of my handbag. She unzipped the bag and brought out the money and thrust it into his hand.
"Will it be enough?" She asked, as a matter of fact.
"Of course," he murmured with a sharp grin.
Her eyes widened in astonishment when he shoved the money back to her and it fell on the floor. She glared at him in outrage. That useless smirk was back on his face.
"How dare you?" She yelled.
"I see that you are a proudy rich heiress who doesn't care for anybody but herself, still don't try to show that attitude of yours everywhere," he said and turned around to leave.
"What did you say?" She snarled in anger.
"The same thing which you just heard," he blurts and walks out of the bookshop.
Fuming with fury, that day she left the shop and walked over to her car. Her whole day was spent while cursing badly for that arrogant guy. She wanted to punish him for what he did with her. Probably asked her father to help her with this. But she didn't know that a small thing would make her happy and forget about everything else. The next evening, Andaleeb received a parcel in her name. She was dubious and curious when she opened it and it revealed to be that same book which she badly wanted and it caused that alteration with that guy. Wrapped beautifully in a pink gift paper, it went straight into her heart. There was yet another sticky note which was attached to it. She untied it and skimmed at it.
"It wasn't the only piece. That guy and shopkeeper lied. You wanted this book. Here is a token of appreciation from me. Accept the thing in which the heart is involved. "
Andaleeb recollected that she had told about this book to Aurang and he had perhaps gifted her this. So that was why it got ignored by her again.
And how could she forget that incident when her car stopped moving because of a rain and then a man again came to her rescue? He offered her a lift and she accepted it because she was in dire need of it. Once back home, she again got a message.
"Hope you reached home safely. Take care."
That day, she again got a message from that stranger number that wasn't brief. Mostly his texts were short but this one was detailed.
"You were looking good in red today. I still have that fresh and gorgeous look of yours in my eyes."
That made her raise a brow. She really wore a red dress today for University. What was he? A stalker? Something in this didn't give Aurang vibes by it.
"Who are you?" She messaged back, for the first time.
A ping sounded, breaking the creepy silence of the room.
"Your secret admirer."
Many lines appeared on her forehead. "How do you get my number?"
"When I found you, there was no problem in getting your number then."
The answer made her suspicious. Perhaps it was really Aurang.
"Stop playing games and come clean." Her fingers moved rapidly over the screen.
"Let me come clean then. Andaleeb, You fascinate me. I like your sight. You enthrall me. Whenever I see you, I feel springs are blooming and new flowers are blossoming. Fairies are singing and leaves are dancing. That's so surreal to even think about you."
She was about to type that she would perhaps report about his messages when his new text popped up.
"Don't think about reporting me. I will use another number, another way, and another identity to approach you. But don't worry about me. I won't pose any danger to you."
"What the hell?"
"Your cussing makes you look even cuter."
"Are you the one who sends me gifts too?"
"Perhaps."
"Can we meet?" Andaleeb messaged him.
If he would say yes, then she would only wait till she would see Aurang and if he would say no, she wouldn't waste a second before reporting him. She waited for his next reply keenly.
