She moved ahead towards the bed and stood there. She heard someone breathing and there she inhaled. He was really there.
She was about to stroll back when she heard a rustling sound and with this, a grip over her wrist. She gasped in panic trying to free her wrist. Within moments, the white light impinged on her irises.
Her jaw dropped seeing Shah pointing his gun at her. His eyes registered her and then realization dawned upon him before he lowered down his gun. He shook his head and settled up, leaving her wrist.
"What are you doing here?" He asked sharply.
Andaleeb swallowed thickly. "I wanted to check upon you because I was apprehensive that you would flee from here without giving me my things by tricking me. But here you pulled a gun at me."
He gritted his brows together, and a few lines appeared over his forehead. "You shouldn't have startled me. Because in fight and flight response, the only thing I hold is this gun."
"And you said that you don't kill people." She rolled her eyes.
"That's for self-defense, Andaleeb. Just like you brought this knife with you for self-defense," he declared, pointing at her overcoat's pocket with his eye movement.
She froze. "How did you know?"
He smirked. "You are a kid in this game, Andi. You should be thankful that I am not a real criminal."
She unknowingly touched her pocket before her eyes followed. Embarrassment washed over her face realizing that the pattern of the knife was visible from the fabric. Shah's keen eyes had caught it without any mistake.
She patted her both arms. "Well I came here to get a guarantee that you won't misuse my things and personal information and I will get my belongings without any change."
He smiled. "You will get them, Andaleeb."
She scowled at him. "How can I believe you? Give me a convincing security or else I'll call the police."
He stood up to her level, now towering over her with his sheer height. "If I proved to be a criminal, the police won't spare you as well for giving rescue to a criminal like me."
Surprise washed over her face. He did have a point. "A guarantee then."
"Come with me," he told her before ambling towards the en suite. Andaleeb was confused but she did follow him.
He opened a cupboard and there was a locker inside. "I have kept your belongings here. The code is a number that you can find inside the key of the pendant I gave you. Insert the number and if you want, you can take your things right now. I pledge this over my Mom that whatever I said is right."
She suspiciously looked at him and then took out the pendant, peeking keenly at it for the number he referred. Shah's finger guided her to a faint pattern of numbers hidden inside the key.
5973
"Here you go!" He declared before pressing the written numbers.
Her eyes widened when the locker did pull open and it revealed her handbag. "Take it if you want."
She shook her head. "No, you pledge upon your mother that you won't betray. I am going to trust that pledge and wait till you will be safely out of here after we exchange our things."
A darkness invaded his eyes before he smiled. "Of course."
Once she was back in her room and laid down on her bed, her mind wandered over to what happened a while ago. She lifted her wrist and stared at it. It wasn't like Shah holding it happened out of any motive. He did it in self-defense. Both of them hadn't intent on doing it. But why does it feel eerie and a disloyal to Aurang? The way Shah pledged about his mother and it proved to be true, it made her remember the decision when she would betray her parents on Aurang's suggestion.
Was she doing wrong? Finding love while buying the anger, and disownment from her family? She hissed and changed her side. She just needed Aurang in her life and nothing else. Without him, she would die. She shouldn't think too much. She was the beloved daughter of her parents and they do would listen to her once she would bring Aurang in an inevitable status in front of them.
Overthinking wouldn't bring her anything and especially getting anxious over a stranger's words was foolishness. Andaleeb closed her eyes, resting her racing mind as well. Soon sleep engulfed her and she forgot everything for a while.

When she woke up in the morning, the birds were humming, the cold air was swaying around and snowflakes were falling from the sky like cotton pieces. Andaleeb waited for a while to sleep again but when she realized that nothing could be fruitful anymore, she opened her eyes. She found the bed empty when she looked around. Perhaps Daneen was having a shower.
She was just thinking of leaving the bed to make herself a cup of coffee when the door knocked. Thinking it would be perhaps room service, she opened the door and what awaited her surprised her.
A waiter was standing there, giving her belongings back to her.
