random thought of series i get but too lazy to complete

It had been long since I stopped counting the days. What would be the point? To wallow in despair over all of the days I have lost while trapped? I've begun to convince myself I am stuck

inside of a continuous loop. I am surviving the same day on repeat. I haven't lost any time. A shiver wracks through my body. If they had the decency to give me my clothes back, maybe this wouldn't be as insufferable.

But that's a lie. Nothing about this is sufferable.

I can faintly hear the locks clacking together. My hands begin to involuntarily tremble, and I swallow down my anxiety. My throat is dry and raw from screaming.

"Hey," My body tenses, but I don't dare look up. I anticipate what is about to come, but it doesn't. "You're safe now, okay?"

The unfamiliar man places a hand on my shoulder. I jerk away from it, expecting the ropes to press against my skin, only to find absence.

"Oh, I'm sorry! I shouldn't have..." He quickly

takes his hand away, trailing off mid

sentence. "I cut the ropes. You're free now." I lift my head. He extends a hand, and I make no move to take it.

"Can you stand?"

I can't find the strength to speak, so I just force myself to get off of the chair. The moment I do, I gasp in pain and stumble forwards. The stranger catches me and leans me against his shoulder.

As we begin to escape, I can feel a lump rising in my throat. I didn't think escape was possible.

Walking is a blur. I don't recognize much, except for smacking the ground. It feels as if there was a lot more force than just falling, but the pain from before was probably thecause of that.

I take a moment to sit back up, and I look over at the man. For the first time since I fell, I realize that we're in a room.

He looks at me and the once kind expression is no longer there. I feel everything all over again. I hear the door click from behind him. He flicks the lock. My heart begins to pound frantically against

my chest, as if it's trying to escape.

We both know it can't.
