As we walked to our next class, Rose couldn't resist teasing me. "So, I guess the date went well?"

I shrugged, trying to play it cool. "I don't know, Rose. Maybe he was just being friendly."

Rose rolled her eyes. "Please, a wink and a smile? That's more than just friendly."

We reached our history classroom and took our seats. The class started, but I couldn't stop thinking about Jake. So what do people do after successful date? do they act all friendly with each other suddenly or do they friendzone each other while secretly nurturing they feeling for each other??

Damn it!!! Its sooo confusing!

After history, we had a break. I tried to find Jake, hoping to have a conversation with him to lessen the awkwardness that apparently I am the only one feeling, but it seemed like he was in another class. Disappointed but determined not to let it ruin my mood, I joined Rose as we headed to our usual spot in the courtyard.

The courtyard was a beautiful escape from the stuffy classrooms, with its sprawling oak trees providing ample shade and the well-manicured lawn offering a soft place to sit. The air was filled with the scent of blooming flowers, and the gentle rustling of leaves created a soothing background noise. Birds chirped melodiously from their perches, adding to the serene atmosphere.

Rose and I found our favorite spot beneath a particularly large oak tree. The grass was lush and cool, and dappled sunlight filtered through the leaves, creating a mosaic of light and shadow on the ground. I was just about to take out my lunch when I heard someone call my name.

"Lilyy!"

I looked up, startled, and saw Jake walking towards us, a broad smile on his face. The sunlight caught in his honey-brown hair, making it look like spun gold. He looked relaxed and happy, and my heart did a little flip at the sight of him.

"Hey, Lily!" I turned to see Jake walking towards us, a smile on his face.

"Hey, Jake," I replied, trying to sound nonchalant even though my heart was racing.

"Mind if I join you guys?" he asked, looking at Rose and me.

"Sure," Rose said, giving me a knowing look.

Jake sat down next to me, his presence making me feel both nervous and excited. We chatted about the biology class, and he complimented me on my participation in debate discussions last week, which made me blush.

"So, Lily," Jake said after a while, "I was wondering if you'd like to study together with me?"

I blinked, caught off guard. "Uh, yeah, sure. That sounds great."

"Awesome. How about we meet at the library after school ?" he suggested.

"Yeah, that works for me," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady.

As the bell rang, signaling the end of the break, Jake stood up. "Cool. See you then." He gave me another smile before heading off to his next class.

Rose waited until Jake was out of earshot before bursting out, "The date went VERY well! Just think about it-you two start hanging out more, and then within a year, you'll be official. By the time we graduate high school, you could be the cutest couple ever. Then, who knows? Maybe you'll have a college baby, and we'll all help raise it together! Can you imagine? It would be like our own little family!"

I laughed, shaking my head. "Rose, slow down! It's just a study session "

Rose grinned, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "I know, I know, but can't you just see it? You and Jake are perfect for each other. And you know I and Michelle will make the best godmothers, don't you think?"
