Are you a parking ticket? because you got 'FINEE' written all over you<3

I read it out loud in my mind while staring at the huge poster Michelle printed from Pinterest. Her reasoning? "To motivate you to love yourself," she had said. I never fully understood why she did it, but if it made her happy, then it could stay there.

Thinking of her, my eyes shifted from the mirror to the figure currently occupying half of my bed, cuddling with our huge Mr. Teddy and wearing my night suit. The sunlight kissed her honey-brown curly hair, and her light snores mixed with the hint of music from the kitchen, creating the perfect soundtrack for my morning routine.

Last night, after analyzing every nook and cranny of my date with Jake for about four hours, we finally decided to call it a night and went to sleep.

Shifting my gaze back to myself, I looked at my chubby curves, stretching my oversized sweatshirt in an attempt to hide them. After taking a deep breath, I turned and walked over to give Michelle a forehead kiss.

She murmured something incomprehensible but sweet in her sleep. Smiling, I headed towards the kitchen to have my breakfast.

As I reached the bottom of the staircase, the delicious aroma of my favorite breakfast hit me. Fluffy chocolate pancakes with a drizzle of Hershey's chocolate syrup, topped with fresh-cut strawberries and chocolate chips. Mom had gone all out to celebrate my first date.

I walked into the kitchen to find Mom bustling around, a smile on her face. Dad was at the table, looking just as excited. Their joy was contagious.

"Morning, sweetheart!" Mom beamed, setting a plate of pancakes in front of me. "I made your favorite to celebrate your first date!"

"Morning, Mom. Morning, Dad," I replied, feeling a warmth spread through me.

"Thank you, this looks amazing."

Dad looked up from his newspaper, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "We're so proud of you, honey. And about time, too!" he teased.

"Yeah, imagine I've been single for so long that Mom gave me a TED Talk on 'It's okay to be gay,'" I joked, shaking my head at the memory.

Mom laughed, a light, musical sound that always made me feel better. "We just want you to be happy, sweetheart. Whether that's with a boy, a girl, or just being yourself."

I dug into my pancakes, savoring the rich chocolate and sweet strawberries. "I know, Mom. And I am happy. Last night was... incredible, it was my first time experiencing something like that."

We spent the next few minutes chatting about the date. I recounted every detail, from the moment Jake handed me the flowers to the way he never judged my eating habits. Both Mom and Dad listened intently, their expressions a mix of pride and joy.

"You deserve someone who treats you right," Dad said, reaching over to squeeze my hand. I smiled, feeling a tear prick the corner of my eye. "I know Dad ."

Just then, Michelle stumbled into the kitchen, rubbing her eyes. "What's all the noise about? Smells DEee-licious in here."

I laughed. "It is! Mom made my favorite breakfast to celebrate my first date."

Michelle grinned, grabbing a plate. "Well, count me in! Thanks Bae for this delicious breakfast !" She winked at my Mom, while Mon just laughed and gave her a flying kiss.

As we all sat together, enjoying the delicious pancakes and the company of loved one's a sense of contentment wash over me. This was my family, my support system, and with them by my side, I felt ready to take on anything .

And so, with a full heart and a full stomach, My Dad drove me to school.

Walking through the hallway of my high school, I scrolled through Instagram, pausing occasionally to like a post or leave a comment.

I finally reached my locker and started to take out my books while texting Rose, asking where the hell she was. Rose is my other best friend. We were paired together for a dance in the annual celebration day in 5th grade, and we've been inseparable ever since.

She texted back quickly, saying she was already in class and didn't wait for me since I was running late. Typical Rose-always punctual.

I hurried down the hallway, managing to slip into the classroom just before the teacher arrived. Without looking around, I made my way to the seat Rose had saved for me. Just as I settled in, our biology teacher began the lesson, showing us how sister chromatids separate during the anaphase stage of mitosis through the projector.

Rose was diligently taking notes, and I knew I could borrow them from her after class. One of the perks of having your best friend in the same class.

As the lesson continued, my mind started to wander. I glanced around the room, my eyes scanning the rows of students until they landed on Jake, who was sitting just behind me. He was wearing glasses and intently taking notes. When he noticed me looking, he winked and flashed a quick smile before returning to his notes.

My heart skipped a beat. Wtf, he's sitting behind me!

I tried to focus on the lesson, but my mind kept drifting back to Jake. His presence so close to me was both thrilling and nerve-wracking. Why was he sitting behind me today? Had he planned it, or was it just a coincidence?

My thoughts were interrupted by Rose, who nudged me with her elbow.

"Pay attention," she whispered, a knowing smile playing on her lips. She must have noticed my distracted state.

I nodded, trying to shake off my daze and focus on the lesson. But every now and then, I found myself glancing back at Jake. His wink and smile replayed in my mind, a small but significant interaction that left me feeling giddy.

The rest of the class passed in a blur. Rose continued to take meticulous notes while I did my best to catch up and absorb the material. As the bell finally rang, signaling the end of the period, I gathered my things, feeling a mixture of excitement and apprehension.

"Ready for the next class?" Rose asked, packing up her notes.

"Yeah," I replied, trying to sound casual.

As we walked out of the classroom together, I couldn't help but glance back at Jake one more time. He was still gathering his things, but he caught my eye and gave me another smile. I quickly turned back around, feeling my cheeks flush.

"Someone's got a crush," Rose teased, nudging me playfully.

"Shut up," I muttered, though I couldn't help but smile.
