"The battle of willow creek, took place at the end of the war, in our very own mystic falls. How many casualties were in this battle?" Mr. Tanner asked the class "miss Bennett?" He pointed at Bonnie.
"Uh..a lot? I'm not sure. Like a whole lot" the class chuckled at her response.
"Cute becomes dumb in an instant, miss Bennett" Mr. Tanner said, then looked around class, "Mr. Donovan, would you like to take this opportunity to overcome your jock stereotype?"
"It's okay Mr. Tanner, I'm cool with it" Matt, also known to Vivienne as Elena's ex, replied.
"Hmm. The new kid?" Two heads rose from their notebooks, only to see Mr. Tanner looking at Vivienne, "what's your name?"
"Vivienne sommers"
"Well, miss sommers. How many casualties?"
"Do you see me raising my hand?" Mr. Tanner shook his head, "then I obviously don't know the answer"
The class chuckled at her response as Mr. Tanner nodded, slightly glaring at her before looking at her cousin.
"Elena? Surely you can enlighten us about one of the town's most significantly historical events?"
"I'm sorry..I-i don't know" Elena shook her head.
"I was willing to be lenient last year because of obvious reasons Elena. But the personal excuses ended with summer break"
Vivienne glared daggers at their teacher when he brought up Elena's parents.
"346 casualties...unless you're counting the local civilians" Stefan said from behind Vivienne.
"That's correct..Mr...?"
"Salvatore"
"Salvatore? Any relation to the original settlers here at mystic falls?"
"Distant."
"Well, very good. Except of course there were no civilian casualties" Mr. Tanner said but got interrupted by Stefan.
"Actually there were 27..sir....confederate soldiers fired on the church believing it to be housing weapons. And they were wrong. It was a night of great loss." Vivienne giggled as Stefan continued to wrong the history teacher, "the founders archives are in civil hall if you'd like to brush up on your facts....mr. Tanner"
"Burn you creep" Vivienne mumbled under her breath, giggling.

Elena brushed through the long raven black hair of her dear cousin Vivienne, who was sitting in front of the mirror, pouting.
"I don't understand," Elena started, "why don't you wanna go? It'll be really fun"
"I'd rather stay home and paint or draw or read a book than going out and interacting with the human species" Vivienne rolled her eyes.
"And yet you make friends easily" Elena raised an eyebrow at her through the mirror.
"I don't. They are good at making conversations, and I just go with it" she shrugged.
