IN ANOTHER LIFE

Story of Life

"James wake up ", Net said as the bell rang.

James stretches himself as he gets up and yawns.

"Can you like tell the teacher I am unwell or something , I really don't want to do gym. I'll just sleep ", James said.

Net sighed as he ruffled James' hair before walking away. As the class got empty , James got up.
He walked down to the 10th graders. They had the annual day soon so many of their periods didn't take place.

James signalled Dew to come out. Dew followed as he walked outside.

"I had a dream just now ", James said.

"Good for you ", Dew replied.

"So he sacrificed himself for the greater good , how charming but I think there is one thing you missed ", James said.

"Great , of all people that got to see the ending you were one of them ", Dew said.

"Seems like you know too , good then , this conversation is gonna be easier ", James said.

"I won't let you provoke again with that Bright and Win are in love bullshit", Dew said.

James took out his phone as he showed the picture of Bright and Win kissing in the theatre.

" Shall we talk now ? I am not against Win , I want him to survive but the issue is , he is going on the same path as before. Loving Bright is what is gonna end him getting killed. Just compare it, he was first close with you and was against Bright and now once Bright gave a strong impression they both are together. You know what happens next, Win dies", James said.

"Stop provoking me !!", Dew said in frustration.

"I am not provoking you , I am trying to help you but whatever , I guess you are alright seeing Win die again ", James said as he was going to walk away but Dew held onto him.

"Sorry , I keep seeing the past. Okay , what's the plan. How do we save him ?", Dew asked.

"You need to make him fall back in love with you. We would start with making him get away from Bright. That's the most important thing here. But for that you would have to lie a bit ", James said.

"What do I have to lie about ?", Dew said.

"Tell him that you saw the ending , and that Bright used him as a life shield", James said.

Dew looked the other way as he turned around and walked back to his class.

You'll be provoked by me in ever life. James thought.

Meanwhile Dew walked back to the classroom.

"When did you walk out ? I didn't even notice", Win said as Dew sat down.

Dew looked at Win with grave eyes before speaking,

"I dreamed the ending ."

Win got serious as well.

"What happened in it ?", Win asked.

"Bright sent me a letter through James , he told me that he won't let his land die. James motivated me into killing you because that would save everyone. I pretended to agree with him, then when the war started I shot my arrow at Bright but he ... He used you as a shield. Your soul shattered and you died. He got angry that I betrayed him and went on with the war till I killed him", Dew said.

Win was stunned. He didn't expect to hear all that. He gulped a bit as he turned to see Bright who was sleeping on his desk.

Dew held Win's hand.

"Please don't go near him again , you'll die. I don't want to see you die Win. I want to see you live your entire life with happiness", Dew said.

Win pulled back his hand.

"Don't worry , It won't happen again ", Win said.

"If you stay with him it will ", Dew said.

"Even if it does that it's fine , cause there is no happiness if it's not with him. I'll be fine ", Win said.

Suddenly a student came running to the class.

"Win , Net got hurt he is in the hospital ", he said as Win got up in panic.

Bright also woke up due to the sound as he followed behind Win along with Dew.

They met James on the way as well as all of them collected at the hospital. They were waiting outside the hospital room while Win called his parents.

"What happened ?", James asked one of the guys who had come as well.

"He got in between these two kids who were fighting and got really hurt", he explained.

"He got stuck between two people ?", James said in a low voice as he recalled how Win died when he came between two kings.

Win held onto James.

"I know you don't like me , but please don't think too much. Phi Net is going to be alright ", Win said.

James hugged Win.

"Sorry , I forgot to talk to you. I am sorry for turning to my old self , I won't be that guy again. Let's stop this together. I don't want to see anyone dying ", James said while crying. Win hugged him tighter.

He felt at peace.

Net was out of danger but wasn't allowed visitors yet so James and Win went out to get everyone some drinks. While they walked back Win spoke up,

"Dew dreamt of the ending ."

"What ?", James pretended to be surprised.

"He told me that Bright wanted to save his land so Dew attacks him but Bright used me as his life shield", Win said.

"There is no way ", James said in disbelief.

"I know nah , even I am failing to accept it. But it's the truth Dew doesn't have a reason to lie to me. I promised Bright that this time I won't judge him on the basis of what happened in the past but it's not easy after knowing that something like that happened before", Win said.

"I did what ?", Bright's bold voice came as Win and James turned.

"I'll give you both some privacy ", James said as he took the drinks and started to walk away.

Hopefully you'll break up. James thought as he walked away.

"Did I really use you as a life shield ?", Bright asked again in disbelief as he stood still. Win walked to him.

"It doesn't matter , you said it yourself , it doesn't matter what we were in the past , us now is what that matters ", Win said as he held onto Bright's face.

Bright was starting to tear up.

"Don't cry , nothing will happen ", Win said.

"What if that all happens again ? We shouldn't date ", Bright started to panic.

"Bright , stop it , nothing will happen. Things are different this time. We will be alright ", Win said.

"I don't want to hurt you again ", Bright said.

"Bright , even if I am gonna be hurt I don't mind , I don't want to loose you , because the reason I got another life was to find love. This isn't an apology for my sacrifice or something , it's my wish for finding someone I can love ", Win said.

"I'll do everything that I can and I will save you , no matter what happens, I will save you. This isn't going to be like the story of Life ",  Bright said.

"I trust you , more than anything ", Win said as they hugged each other.

Meanwhile , someone on the other side burned in jealously.
