There are days I spent in my bed,
There are days I go out to feel the sun.
Regardless, there's a yearning
For a love I can't ask for.

How do I say "I need you"
Without making myself look weak?
How do I say "I'd kill for you"
Without seeming too full of love?

There are night when all I do is rest,
There are nights I write about passion
Even if the closest thing I've felt
Has been mere anger.

How do I say "I want to hold you"
Without seeming too desperate?
How do I say "I miss you so much"
Without losing the right to call myself a man?

There are secrets best told in the dark,
There are vows best made to the moon,
To her, the night's fair daughter,
Who knows of my secrets.

How do I say "I wanna make you smile"
Without sounding like a clown?
How do I say "I write poems about you"
Without confessing my devotion?

Until I know, I will cease to speak;
My heart will lay and writhe in silence
And I will let you live in peace,
Without the weight of my love.
