1. Its based on "Two Can Keep a Secret" by Karen M. McManus
2. they live in a town called Echo Ridge and there have been a few murders there, including Sophie's aunt. Echo Ridge's old nickname was "Murderland" because of some murders that happened around the time of homecoming.
3. Sophie moved to a new school and met her old friend, Biana.

"Wha-" Sophie said, shocked and confused. "I... I didn't even sign up to be homecoming queen!"
"Sophie," Biana said, also pretty shocked. "This is great! We're both going to be voted on for... queen." Sophie could tell Biana was a little upset because they both knew that Biana really wanted to be the homecoming queen. But Biana was definitely trying to hide it.
"I'm so sorry, Biana," Sophie whispered, still in shock. "I didn't even- I don't know what happened! I didn't even put my name on the list!"
"It's not you're fault," Biana said, suddenly determined. "We're going to find out who did this."

"Okay... so it looks like not enough people voted for you. No offense!" Biana said.
"None taken... but how did I get to be homecoming queen at all?" Sophie whispered back. They walked down the hallway to Biana and Sophie's locker, and gasped suddenly.
