As a tribute to the immortal Alpha Gods above, twelve preselected humans are gathered at the dawn of every millennium. Selected at random on the day of their birth, they are silently groomed to be the perfect offering. They seem lucky from the outside, with opportunities and scholarships being handed to them left and right. The public perceives them as successful individuals with abundant talents, but none of them understands the true cost of these luxuries; not one is aware of the price they will have to pay for these so-called gifts. Providing these benefits to the selected humans helps make them more pleasing tributes. Fattening the lamb for slaughter. No one has known that these artists, musicians, athletes, and scholars have been bred to please these alpha gods.
The week after their twenty-fifth birthdays, they are ambushed, kidnapped, pulled away from their lives, and brought to a secret facility to await the offering.
Afraid and angry, they are stuck, with nowhere to run or hide. The full weight of every government in the world is against them. Even if they could escape, they have nowhere to go.
All of the potential that they had suddenly amounts to nothing.
Caught up in something so much larger than themselves, they have to learn to survive in a realm beyond earth, where Gods play.

Tributes are to be collected unharmed (sedated if necessary to ensure their safety) and turned into the U.N. headquarters in New York City, New York. All handlers must ensure that the collection is executed in a way that leaves no witnesses and no loose ends. This must appear to be a disappearance with no leads for local authorities to follow.
All tributes need to be ready for handover at midnight on June 1, 2023.
As we close out the obligations for this millennium, I want to thank all involved. This batch of tributes is truly the greatest offering we could present. I believe the Alphagods will be more than pleased. We have set the standard going forward, future tributes will need to rise to the caliber that we have set.
