43 - Patronus

Artemis

I'm sitting in the common room on the couch my feet up on the edge as I loung around. The girls are outside in a part of a large snowball fight with other students in our year and ones above and below. I didn't want to go outside and join them and was just chilling watching the fire with 3 blankets resting in my lap for when Lavender, Pavati, and Valentina got back. Noticing the portrait open and two people walk in I don't bother looking up and just close my eyes soaking in the warmth of the room. The couch dips beside me and someone lifts my leg placing them in their lap, I open my eyes and glare at Nathan who is looking at me with a smug smirk. I turn away from him rolling my eyes and look at Harry who is sitting on the other side of me and arm on top of the couch.

"How were patronus lessons with Professor Lupin?" I ask and Harry's eyes light obviously excited to tell me,

"They were great, I was so close to seeing my patronus, Remus says it must be a part of the equine family," He says quickly and reaches for one of the blankets in my lap, I slap his hand away and give him a playful glare.

"Good job, and these are for the girls," I tell him and he folds his arms over his chest with a huff,

"You're annoying," Harry states making me smirk and reach up scuffing up his hair, "NoT tHe hAIr!" I let out a laugh and can't help what Harry would be like if he didn't grow up with Sirius's influence on his hair,

"I'm your little sister, that's my job," I tease and lean my head against the back of the couch again closing my eyes. The boys start talking about something and I zone out not listening, my heart lodges in my throat when I feel someone's hands gently running up and down my shin. I open my eyes and glare at Nathan waiting for him to stop. He's still talking with Harry ignoring my look until he looks at me with a smirk and winks at me. I match his look before raising my foot sightly over a sensitive area, Nathan's eyes flick down to my raised foot. He gulps and raises his hands slightly in surrender while my smirk goes,

"Artemis! Are you listening?" Harry asks raising his voice slightly and I turn my head to him with a look that blatantly says no, 

"I wasn't you were talking with Nathan," I state plainly before raising an eyebrow waiting for him to tell me what he wanted to,

"Oh right, Remus said you could cast a patronus could you show me?" He repeats and I sigh pulling my wand from my hair which was holding up my messy bun, now my hair falls down so it's out.

"Expecto Patronum," I say strongly and watch as a blue mist emits from my wand until a wolf leaps from my wand. Both Harry and Nathan follow my patronus with their eyes until it goes through the portrait and Pavati, Lavender, and Valentina walk through shivering. I chuckle and throw a blanket at the each of them which they gladly take.
